Miyata Catalogs
Hi,
The Miyata Catalogs site seems to be down.
Does anyone have a download they could share? Thanks!
EDIT! I found the archived sites

I was just there (well, planning on it) today, because of course I was, and also noticed it missing. We have a C&V crisis on our hands!
Where's the archive of the site?

Yesterday I was able to load archived pages, but not any more... I did however save all the catalogues as Web Archives... So, if anyone wants a copy just send me a PM with an email address, and I'll send the zip file (19 MB)
Does this make me a C&V hero?

Being located in Sweden, I wouldn't think that those catalogues would be of much use to the OP. The Koga-Miyata catalogues would seem more appropriate, as the American and European models were rarely identical. https://www.koga.com/en/service/broc...2000-1976).htm

Yes, thank you T-Mar for the Koga-Miyata catalogs link. The "Miyata" branded bikes were sold here at least from around 1985 until 1991 (ish). I bought a "100" and toured on it for many years (couldn't afford a "1000" back then), and many other models were sold here too. I remember the american catalogues.

Would it be appropriate to submit these to Velobase for posterity? That site has a catalog archive. Who owns the content in this case?
edit: I see that Velobase has a link to the now defunct website, miyatacatalogs.com.

I don't have the 1979 catalogue but do have some road tests, specs and advertisements from that period. What model are information are trying to obtain? Also, if you're dating a bicycle via the the serial number, be aware that it may be a 1980 model manufactured in late 1979.

Miyata of this period used a 7 character serial number format with a single letter prefix followed by six numbers. I believe that your upside down '1" is actually a partial "I" or "J", and the "B" is a partial number, may be an "8", which would make it 1980 or 1981 manufacture. The"M" logo on the seat tube is consistent with the 1982 models, so your bicycle appears to have been manufactured in late 1981. So, what exactly do you want to know, as the frame appears to have virtually no OEM components?

Maybe you should wait a little bit. Probably the domain registration has just expired, unless the owner has decided to give up on it. It takes a few weeks for the redemption period to expire.

I've converted the catalogues to PDFs. Would there be any issues with putting these up on Flicker or some like that?

The 1991 catalog is missing. Only the spec sheet was downloaded.

Hello.
I would love to get hold of the Miyata catalogs.
I naively thought they would be on the web forever.
Here's my email:
info@duncanreed.com
Cheers,
Duncan

There is an alternative location for the Miyata catalogs that is live as of this morning:
https://www.ragandbone.ca/Miyata/miyata_selector.html
There is also a link there to download the entire archive.

Sorry to dig this up but does anyone have the 76 or 77 catalogues floating about?
I have just got possession of a Koga-Miyata 1977, E serial though, Road Racer but the Koga-Miyata archive does not have any visual references of my model.
I painfully google translated what descriptions they have but was hoping the Miyata catalogues might have more references.

Koga-Miyata bought custom specced frames from Miyata and build them up with their own parts. So there might be some overlap but your best bet is the parts list on the bottom of the Koga brochures. Look for the '77 brochure and the orange table under ROAD-RACER RR.
There is a picture (red bike) on the Koga history page, there is this one for sale and this German blog with a few replaced parts.
I just googled "1977 koga miyata road racer"
Anything in particular you want translated? I speak Dutch.

Thanks, I have got some visual references I was just thrown by my bike having an E serial number, which means its 1976 made but for 1977.
I was more looking at what seat and pedals it had but after painfully google translating the 77 brochure it seems like all parts are original bar the wheels so I'm pretty chuffed.
Only thing that confuses is me is the 77 brochure says it has Champion 2 butted framing in the description but 77 stickers have 4140 double butted frame stickers.
I just assume this is prior to Koga-Miyata rebranding Tange 4140 Chromoly frames?
