Vintage Raleigh/Hercules 3 speed Bottom Bracket
Hi guys,
I picked up a 1970 AMF Hercules--good bones, going to be a fun project. Overhauling BB which was a mess, the bearings just fell out. Shouldn't there be a little plastic or metal bearing cage?
Can anyone recommend a good BB replacement set or a source for the bearings, bearings cage?
A million thanks!

Loose balls is standard. Grade 25 loose chrome steel balls are readily available at bike shops, on line, as well as local bearing supply houses such as Motion Industries.
Replacement is a can of worms due to likely Raleigh proprietary threading.

Tell that to me the one and only time I tried to replace loose bearings! Even with the thickest grease I could find, those danged things wouldn't stay put.
