Feel hot all day after riding? Is it reactive hypoglycemia?
I've noticed that after intense riding (race day or hard group ride) that I feel like I'm hot all day. Sometimes get a mild headache with it.
It doesn't happen on moderate pace rides, just the intense ones.
I've seen a few posts about reactive hypoglycemia... for those of you with it, is this what happens to you?
I don't have diabetes(from what I can tell), but have checked my blood sugar at 1 and 2 hours after eating and appeared in the normal range. Never checked at 3 hours though, and I read that's the point at which it drops for some?

For me, reactive hypoglycemia has never manifested itself during or after bike riding. It only is a problem if I eat a meal (or snack on a empty stomach) with a high glycemic index, about 2 or 3 hours later I'll get the shakes and extremely hungry. About 1/2 an hour after I eat I'll feel better. Other people are more or less sensitive, as I understand it.
My wife does describe me as "sugar warm" if I eat something sugary before bed. Apparently I put off a different kind of heat than I do just from environmental factors. I'll be really warm, have vivid dreams, and in some cases have really bad night sweats.
Oh, and caffeine intake of more than a cup or two can bother me the same way. Depending other factors I can successfully manage and / or ignore that.
