Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I started watching at halftime. It's been very meh. It'll get exciting if the rams get the ball again though!

Weeks without Seahawks games are pretty lame.

I completely forgot that there was football being played yesterday. It's okay, though - it's a fake NFL season, anyway.

Many years ago when getting an oil change at repair shop they used an impact wrench to put the drain plug back in the oil pan and destroyed the pan. The shop didn’t admit it and I didn’t find out until the car ran dry of oil. Costly mistake for them.

I have lost all interest in sports this year, I don’t think it helps when my beloved Orange are 1-4.

I was not happy with the last person that changed the oil in my truck. I did a change yesterday and had to resort to the screwdriver through the filter trick to remove it

The whole NBA bubble thing was... odd. Easy to write that one off. The super short MLB season was easy to write off, too. The NFL with little practice and no preseason seems to have yielded sloppy results, though the hapless Vikes might weigh my opinion more than is fair. Ice hockey? Is that still around?

Basically, the whole year feels like a mulligan for pro sports, though some fanbases will still relish their fake championships.

Maybe if you played the piano more (ATTN: DougRNS) it wouldn't be sitting in the closet where the acoustics must be terrible.

yah, I prefer CFB and CBB to other sports, but in many ways, it doesn’t seem like a real season.

Some schools have had a bigger impact than other due to C19, like no spring camp, a much shorter fall camp, key players opting out this year due to concerns etc. Cuse is down something like 20 players, many of whom were returning starters.

I don't have the skills to play. Sad!

I told Hannah that once she settles somewhere she can have the piano.

I guess if you can get them unscrewed and you're real easy on stuff it could work.
You've cracked rims my taping them together and transferring spokes? My issue, for the past couple years or so, is that spokes are no longer available, except custom cut straight gage. I've been harvesting them from other wheels. I guess they are available at $25 apiece, but that is above my paygrade.
Not corroded so much as just dirty. The nipples are brass/bronze?. And the spokes stainless. I am not the guy who does his car tires with armourall. Nor am I the guy who details his bike after every ride.

I would like to see the NBA adopt the fan-free bubble for future playoffs. Watching it streaming on League Pass, there are no commercials in regular seasons, and with no fans we don't have to suffer through thst lame floor entertainment during commercial breaks.

That would be a horrible idea; fan presence certainly impacts the game and energy on the court. Without home-court advantages to play for, we'd probably see even more late-season resting from various teams/stars, which sucks from a fan perspective.

No, obviously I cracked rims around the spoke hole like you pictured.
Spokes are not $25 each, they're less than $1. Nipples around 60 or 70 cents. My LBS has a spoke machine which cuts and threads spokes in about 2 seconds.
I washed my car once in the last 2 years, I don't detail my bike after every ride, I only clean it rarely. But when a wheel starts breaking spokes or a rim cracks I like to freshen up those parts even though I live on a very small amount of money each month and have to spread out expenses so I don't go into the red. ymmv
