Fixing up my Nishiki Prestige

Hello all,

I'm trying to figure out what to replace my gold (orangeish gold) Dia-Compe G brakes with as Dia-Compe doesn't make them any more, and they don't seem to make brakes in the same color either. What is the equivalent caliper brake set up?
I have tried finding some original G brake sets online but haven't had any luck....

Thanks

I would get different calipers, the Diacomp G are inconsistent. They can be great, but they usually suck. The quick release/cablestop is a weak spot that can break, or bend under pressure.

Where are you located?

Do you have a recommendation? I'd like to think I'm not vain enough to say the color is important but... I do prioritize being able to stop on time and not having pieces flying off.
Which is to say the not great quality of the aluminum on the screw caps (the cone things) has led to me now needed to replace the brakes altogether

I'm currently in the netherlands.

As a matter of fact I do. I just replaced the Gs from my Nishiki Comp. I rebuilt some Dura Ace 7400 with a new pivot bolt for a regular nut install. The calipers pad position are almost maxed out, but they are going to work. Here's a picture of that conversion.

If you are changing brakes and want to stop go right to dual pivot calipers. Tektro makes them in a number of reach lengths, silver or black, nutted or recessed.

Thank you for the info everyone!

Any leads on gold or rose gold brakes? Just a last ditch effort on my part. The ones I have now match the big gear and they used to match the derailer before a bike repair shop switched it out after a bike accident.

Although it doesn't look like the good quality brake companies are making them in fancy colors so I might be out of luck.
