I did a 4 day mountain bike tour from Colorado Springs to Cañon City in August. I’ve wanted to ride both Phantom Canyon and Shelf Road for eons.
Although my yearly mileage isn’t as high as some, I have managed to save roughly 4 tons of carbon dioxide emissions by commuting to work and my volunteer job*regularly. *Yes, I keep track.*
Non-riding bicycle activities include helping repair about 1500 bikes (50 Saturdays, 6 hour shift, 30 bikes per Saturday, 6 repair stands) at my local co-op. I also help them raise about $9000 by teaching six 6 week long Master Mechanics classes with 6 participants each class for $250 per student. Additionally, I redesigned the program notes and handouts.

But according to one bf poster, you don't know anything because your bikes are dirty!
Seriously, I think I have learned more from your posts than those of anyone else on bf. You're a natural born teacher.
Congrats on the ride and the CO2 reduction!
