lubricating component pivot points

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

lubricating component pivot points

Questions to the forum:

1. What lube are you using on your component pivot points (front/rear derailleur and brakes)?
2. How often do you lube your component pivot points?

chain lube is fine, after every clean-degrease session, that is once or twice a month

1. Many people swear by Assos Creme, I use Queen Helene CocoaButter. It's affordable, available at most drug stores, smells great, is NOT tested on animals, and performs really well. I haven't used DZ Nuts yet though.
2. Every ride over 15 miles.

dude, if you seriously need chamois cream on any ride over 15 miles then you either need new bibs or a new saddle.

^ Not classed as a pivot point down there..
More like bearings which would indeed need some sort of grease.

Oh I don't NEED it, but it's nice to use when a single ride is over 15. I'm perfectly comfortable doing a century without any chamois cream/butter/whatever, but since I can use it, I will use it

Thanks for the reminder. My front brake was squeaking a little. Some chain lube and a wipe down took care of it.

+1 and I can't contemplate where his rear derailleur might be.

I use melted butter.

I really just blast it down with dry PTFE liquid wrench, but any lube works well.

The reason I asked is because I used Pedro's dry lube and it seems to have done zilch. Sounds like I should switch to Tri-flow or something like it.
