Howdy Partners, I've thinned the herd a mite but I'm hanker'n to to show you folk what's left in the corral. Yippee-ki-yay!

I got a hanker'n to ride now. I bid you folk goodbye.

Happy trails.

That wasn't even funny. Those Nagos were like Gremlins and just started multiplying. I'm quite jealous.

Awesome collection. May I ask you to take a couple of shots of that ALAN and forward them to me for my upcoming ALAN registry/enthousiasts' webpage?

I bow in the general direction of Australia.

Do you have a favorite rider in this delightful collection?

great looking bikes. are the Pinarello and Benotto bowing to the Colnagos?

Nice. You seem to have a bias.

And I believe the correct saying is "Yippee-ki-yay mother ****er!"

Hi iab, I'm afraid my 'western turn of phrase' stopped at Diehard; thanks for the correction. Yes, I do have a bias for Colnago mainly dur to the thinning of the herd. My Bianchi's were a little too small so I decided that I would only keep what I would be comfortable riding.

Dear Bianchigirll, only you would have read the subservience of the Pinarello and Benotto to the Colnago's. (I wish I had a Bianchi or two to rightfully take their place at the lead of the herd.)

Thanks Micheal Angelo - with a name like that you would appreciate beauty.

Australia says thanks gomango. My new favourite is the Rossin but I do love the ALAN as a riding bike. Then again, I simply love the Cinelli, and the three older Colnagos, but the newer Colnago is so responsive. But I choose to ride the Benotto to the shops regularly. I know you know what I mean.

Hi Italuminium (Love the name) I have some pretty awful photos of my ALAN so I will take a couple of better ones and send them to you. I really like the ALAN registry idea of yours.

Thanks WNG - the Italians do it with style.

HenryIII, I think we all have the 'multiplication' problem - but it's a nice problem to have as problems go.

Hi holiday76, you're pretty good. Its a 62cm c to c. frame and it is too big for me. It's a Super with SL tubing. It was an old Belgian team bike (can't remember the team) and it is in post race condition - the paint is patched up and it has a couple of dints. I just stripped it down. Am I going to sell it? Boy, thats a difficult decision to make for a collector of fine Italian machines. Probably am.

neat. you should post more pics of it! And you should contact me when youre ready to sell, though I'd imagine shipping from Aus to the Us wouldnt be fun financially.

Thanks robertofregy (and Henry III), the collection was much bigger but it got out of hand and I had bikes I didn't ride - too precious. So, when I retired I sold off half my bikes and started with the ones I didn't or couldn't ride for one reason or another. You're right; it wasn't funny; its been nearly 2 years now and I am just starting to get over it. I have been riding and collecting bikes since 1972. I'm now riding all my bikes and enjoying them.

Thanks estragon, I live in a small town in Queensland, Australia and I think I'm the only one here that appreciates classic and vintage bikes so it is wonderful to find others that appreciate the beauty of a quality steel frame and the beautifully crafted components of a bygone era. No need to be jealous (I'm sure you're not) as there are many fantastic bikes to be had thanks to guys (male and female) like us caring for, restoring, swapping and selling our bicycle passions. You could have hundreds of bikes (I know 3 guys that fit that description) or one loved bike and genuinely belong to this forum.
