Wait wait wait, are you trying to say that such a clean sport like cyclocross could make a BB not spin...Highly unlikely.
I ordered some Thompson Ti bars and one of their stems for a project as well as some other bits and bobs. Today I am probably going to drop some coinage on the Sugino 75DDs. I keep talking about it and now I must do.

And I also ordered a Wheels MFG Ceramic Hybrid BB for the cranks because if I am going to get some high end cranks I better go for a high end BB as well so it is smoooooooooove. Also bought some 26 Nitto drop bars with the flat tops for my Phil Wood frame because I just am not happy with the Modolo bars I had put on there and picked up some TA Auto Extractors for all my Square taper cranks because I needed some bolts and I like how they work and look.
It was a spend-o-ganxa today and my wallet is not happy with me but I am happy I am getting what I want (minus Super Zen chainring which I may end up getting way later) and will have the parts needed to finish up most of my projects or get super close with them.

Shimano CB-E110 coaster hub, used from eBay. I bid on an auction and got it for a $1 buck plus $6 shipping.
The CB-E110 fits Sturmey Archer cogs, so I can try different ratios and maybe have a chance of keeping up with my son. He's at 72 gear inches, I'm at 65.
When it arrived I immediately opened it up to check the condition of the bearing surfaces -- pristine! I already have a pair of Sun CR18 rims that I got from Niagara for $7 each, ready to calculate the spokes and order them. I also got a low end Shimano front hub. So I get to build a new wheelset. Still don't know what for, maybe the ultimate winter bike.

Shoulda got a DT-Swiss Digital Tensio, that and a PK Lie Truing Stand and then you will be all set. Kidding kidding. For most home users the Park Tool or WheelSmith one is just fine. Though I gotta say it is a pretty neat tool and that Truing stand is so good looking in addition to being the best of the best.

Nothing to write home about, but I had some Reward points and an amazon gift card, so I got a kilo TT frame set for ‘’free’’. Something fun to tinker with since my beater bike build is almost finished and I want something to work on while I start plans on my first frame build.
I plan on learning how to lace wheels with the kilo as well, so hairnet’s post is inspiration! Time to hit the books! 😉

I realized the seat tube diameter was 26.8 on my new frame today... I know... NOOB! I have a 27.2 in the mail... I think I’m gonna attempt machining a seat post.

You can get a nice 26.8 seatpost still made by Nitto. Peter White Cycles sells them and if you have a shop with a Merry Sales Co. account they can order you one pretty easily. If you are looking cheaper Kalloy makes them in every size. If you want 'Merican made, Thomson sells them in both black and silver and also a black setback version. If you are all about 'dem colors, Promax has you covered in Black, Blue, Gold and Red. All three of those options are available at your local bike shop with a QBP account which is probably most shops.
I sanded down a Thomson post from a 27.2 to a 27.0 because no good options there in silver that are made in 'Merica (which was my choice on the Phil Wood frame) but I probably wouldn't want to do it again because it was a pain in the arse. I don't know that I would want to remove any more than I did.

edit*** I just re read you sanded it... yeah that would take a while especially if you were using anything above super low grit paper and working higher. Say 80-120 and working back up to polish. I forget that most people aren’t fermiliar with mills or lathes, which is how a lot of these parts we source are made

Out of curiosity, how do you hold the workpiece? I could see turning down a straight seatpost that has a separate clamp at the top, but I don't know how I'd chuck up a modern post with integral clamp. I do have access to a nice lathe.

I bought a well used Phil Wood Freewheel hub (126mm) I got a Trek 520 and would rather use a standard freewheel rather than the Helicomatic that came with it (also the rim is done) so I am building that into a Velo Orange PBP rim. The hub isn't much to look at but with some cleaning it will look a wee bit better and I will stencil on a new red Phil on there and boom. I would have pictures but alas the posting is down from BikeRecyclery.com since I bought it. Highly recommend checking out the site if you haven't Justyne is a fountain of knowledge and has a huge selection of oddities, vintage fun and new stuff coming in all the time.

The thrift store had like 2 or 3 of these and one by Bell, the ones like this, were 12.99$ but this one didn't have a price tag, So I brought it to the front, and the manager said $6.99. Score! Now I can get some exercise on those lazy winter days where it's too wet to bike.
