Earthquake!!!
Anyone else feel it? I sure did, in the Fresno area.

We used to have tons of them in Nor Cal during the 70's, none very big. Then Loma Preita in '89. and Northridge in '94. But still nothing really huge like 1906. We're way overdue for something like that. I'm ready to just get it over with.

Bikes are fine, sadly. I need to get rid of about half of them anyway.
Just think of all the JOBS rebuilding the entire state would create. Burn baby, burn. I can say that because I'm poor and don't own anything except my bikes and my car.

Didn't feel the first one on Thursday, but definitely felt yesterday's. IT was a slow-roller that lasted about a minute, so I pretty confident it wasn't local. My bookcases and other tall furniture are secured to the walls, so no problems with anything.

The second one felt slightly stronger, from my area. But both were pretty minor. Biggest one I have ever felt was Loma Prieta in '89. I was in Berkeley in an old building talking to a co-worker, and suddenly the ground JERKED under my feet, about 3-4 feet in an instant. Scared the crap out of me, I ran outside right away so I didn't get squished if the ground moved like that again and the buildings started falling. These last two were nothing, by comparison.
The Ridgecrest area, where the quakes were centered, has some spectacular scenery, and has evidently seen some pretty serious geological activity over the years. Check out Red Rock Canyon, on Hwy 14:
