They work great if you need a wide-ish, slightly convex saddle shape.
I have a white one for sale if you are looking. PM me for details and pics

Rolls is very comfortable to me. San Marco USA has a good sale on now, but doesn't feature the Rolls. I picked up a Buffalo Regal with copper trim. It's tops for looks, not as comfy as the Rolls. They do have the Concor in Honey or Full Black and they are more comfortable. https://www.sellesanmarco-usa.com/Road/

Widish, slightly convex? I think both those boxes are ticked with the Rolls saddle.... plus, you get the very attractive metal badging for some class!

I have no direct experience of the woven MicroFeel covers and haven't seen any reviews. The pictures looks like similar to Brooks Cambium, but also have no direct experience of that "new" material either. I'm enough of a Luddite, to stick with leather until I have some saddle time on the new stuff. Don't even have any riding buddies with a Cambium Brooks. Don

Bought my first Rolls in 1987 and still have it, have four other Rolls in various colours including a rare red suede one and rarer dark green buffalo...I do use Brookes as well but Rolls are the cat's pyjamas !

I have a couple, I'd rank them pretty close to favourite status, along with Selleitalia Flite and my Brooks. I don't think you'll go far wrong with one.

Those saddle shapes just don't work for my skinny butt. That includes the popular Turbo style. They look great but my butt says nah. I can't find a sweet spot anywhere on those.

I'm a Selle Italia guy. SLS Kit Carbonio on the '89 Centurion Ironman, Q-Bik on the Univega Via Carisma that's sorta morphing into a faux-path racer, and a spare older Selle Italia split-rear model waiting for a bike. They all have the same basic configuration, just minor differences in padding and perineum relief.

But they do seem to be designed for folks with narrow sit bones. The two road bike style Selle Italias are 131mm at the widest flare, and I don't actually sit back there. The Q-Bik is a bit wider at 140mm but I don't sit on that part even though it's the most thickly padded. The Q-Bik is more of a semi-hammock type with more flex just ahead of the flare, behind the nose. Just a bit of flex, enough to tame rough roads.

The SLS Kit Carbonio is pretty flat without much flex but has been very comfortable on my usual semi-fast 20-30 mile rides. Haven't done many 50+ rides this year, no idea how comfy it'll be over distance.

Don't pay much attention to specific models with Selle Italia. They crank out new model names every year and have way too many catalog choices. But their road bike saddles are all the same basic configuration. I just wait until the previous model is discontinued and blown out on sale.

Although I am a Brooks fan (older Brooks, not the new stuff they make these days), the most comfortable type saddle, for me, has to be this one that is fitted to my Bianchi that I keep and ride in Jamaica. I put lots of miles on this butt perch and find it always comfortable...

I used to think that the Rolls or Turbo were the cat's meow but no more.

-Turbo - this has worked for me for road and mountain bikes. Very comfortable. Get the repro.
-Flite - my go-to lightweight road saddle. Not great ergonomics for upright bikes (too skinny). Get the repro ("1990" version).
-Brooks - I like B17s and Swifts. I had a couple Cambiums for a while, a regular one and a carbon railed narrow C13 - they are very comfortable but butt ugly to my eyes.

My next saddle will be a Kashimax aero. Always wanted to try it.

Thanks you guys , I'm getting a lot of great info here . I have never even considered the width in mm of a saddle or parts of my , ahem , sitting area . I think I'm going to get a Rolls , but I also want to check out some other saddles as well . The best saddle I ever had was a Selle , but I don't know the model name . I't had raised sit bones area but no cut out , I really wish I never sold it and the bike for that matter .
