A short but intense ride this morning to test out my new tubeless setup. Attention picture heavy! But that's what this thread is about...

After a week of negative excesses, bad or to much food and no exercise I opted for the flats and the hybridized mtb. I'm sure I would have struggled a bit in the hills but on the flats today I was stronger than the last time I did this ride. So hills do make you stronger. It was a perfect warm day for riding too.

Setting up for the TDU is well under way in the city centre

I actually thought of you riding in the nice and warm southern hemisphere when I was battling 37 degrees F and a stiff north wind yesterday doing a quick 20 miles on the Fuji Absolute trying to work off some "holiday cheer."

Today a 34km ride in a hilly farm not too far from my house. They have lots of ATV trails which are now closed to motorized vehicles by a state law due to excessive erosion. MTB paradise. Very satisfied with my tubeless Smart Sams.

Walked this section.

Okay, that's beyond hybrid bike territory. Turn around here. The climb up to here is quite managebale just can't continue to the other side of the hill.

The views are worth the effort.

Cool Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk

Listening to the waves crashing and the lack of tourists made for such a relaxing ride! It’s not often I ride pavement, but this was such a fun ride on my Cannondale Quick 5!

Just bought a Giant FastRoad, I live in Victoria BC and ride the Galloping Goose trail. I made it into town in less than 20 minutes from Saanich which I find is quite fast compared to being stuck in traffic in a car.

Rode 75 km today. About 50/50 road/off road.

Managed to burp the front tire on a technical rocky climb. Reninflated the tire and was on my way when I realized the rear tired had burped some too and was almost rolling off the rim. Tried inflating it but the pump decided to die on me. Luckily a fellow rider was nearby and lent me his.

It was a really hot day. Went through 3 liters of water and a Gatorade.

Sounds good to me too. It's literally freezing rain in New England. Hence I'm writing about biking instead of actually biking.

Thanks! Probably a high of around 30°C, which is 86°F, but the blazing sun makes it feel like much more.

Nice weather! It's about 15*F where Trav and I live (-9*C), and windy as all get out. It's supposed to be about 5*F/-15*C tonight.

The bikes await warmer weather indoors...

Got any snow? That would call for a fat bike.

Past Saturday we had very nice weather - sunshine, just below freezing and light breeze, so I went on a 44 km ride to the seaside and back.

Frozen lake Ķīšezers

Crossing the channel near port of Rīga

Daugava river mouth. I wanted to go to the lighthouse, but as the waves were splashing across the pier I decided not to.

Vecāķi beach. Tailwind and smooth frozen sand made the ride along the beach very enjoyable.

Port of Rīga
