Wide range freewheels for 7800 rear hub

I have a set of wheels with Shimano Dura Ace 7800 hubs. The freehub has the atypical taller splines. I would like to mount a newer 10 speed cassette having largest cogs such as a 32, 34, or 36 and want to know which Shimano or other brand cassettes would work, for example, Tiagra 4700 casettes. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you are out of luck. shimano realized their mistake and discontinued the Al. freehub body. I don't know of any after market people that make cogs for that model.

Yeah, the 7800 system is abandonware. But it wouldn't hurt to get your hands on a regular 10-speed cassette and see if it fits. My understanding is that the splines on the hub are deeper rather than taller.

If you don't have any 10-speed cassettes, see if your local shop or friends have any used ones you could try.

I bought the Shimano 12-28 I'm running now about 8 years ago when at the time it was my understanding that all 10 spd Shimano freewheels would work. I am just wondering if the newer wider range freewheels will still work or possibly an MTB cassette. Thanks

I believe that the odd ball ten sp. cassette was the only one that would work. The splines on the body are taller.
