Trek road bike - $75 (Pawtucket)

Older early 80's Trek 12 speed road bike. Standover height of 31". 21" Reynold's steel tubing (can't tell if 501 or 531 cause sticker is too damaged to read). Mechanically sound, cosmetically challenged. 700 alloy wheels. Tires decent. $75.

Nice bike. Looks like it needs quite a bit of work, but for 75$, no brainer. It is my size but too far away and not what I am looking for presently.

A c. 1960 Raleigh Blue Streak frame set. The fellow quoted the size in cm, but that would translate to a 22.5" frame set based on the original specifications (center-to-top). A size too small for me, or I'd probably already have bought it!

lousy description and hard to see anything in the picture, but this looks like it might be a pretty nice high end-ish frame (TT internally routed cables)? The groupset looks like it *might* be 600/Ultegra or just as easily Exage. Anyway, for $125 it might be worth a look. Also, that looks taller than 56 to me....

Vintage Miele road bike 56 cm / 22 in - $125 (Watertown)

Late 80s / early 90s Miele 10 speed road bike. Bianchi seat, Seca tires, platform pedals. Frame measures about 56 cm / 22 in, and wheels measure about 24 in / 60 cm.

Diamond back DB Venture Centurion 18 Speed Road Bike - $125 (Wayland)

For sale is a vintage Diamond Back (Diamondback) DB Venture Centurion bike in excellent condition. It has drop handlebars, shifters on the down tube, quick release wheels, toe clips, a water bottle holder and a rear carrying rack. It does not have a kick stand. It has Shimano Exage 400 LX derailleurs. It has 27" wheels with 700-28C Continental tires with Presta valves. It has Shimano brakes. It is very clean. It rides well and shifts very easily. I think it is a 21" or 23" frame. I am 5'5" and ride it with the seat in the lowest position.

If you see this ad, the DiamondBack bike is still available. Please include your telephone number for speedier scheduling. I always respond to emails so you might check your spam folder if you have not received a reply or you can phone me (five zero eight - three five eight - two one four zero) with questions or to schedule. Thank you for your interest.

Bertoni Road Bike - Columbus Steel - 2x10 dura ace - ceramic hubs - $450 (Arlington)

For sale is an 80s Italian steel racing bike built up with modern wheels and modern dura-ace groupset. I built this up for a fast commuter build, following the modern endurance philosophy of fit geometry. The stem is high and close for a more upright, sport-touring posture like you might find on a Giant Defy or Specialized Sequoia. If you want a more aggressive ride let me know, I may have a more race oriented stem I could include. The frame has been well used as a commuter, there are scuffs in the paint all over as can be seen in the pictures. Everything is about the frame and wheels is straight and true.

Build info:
Bertoni Corsa Mondiale 57cm frameset
Full 2x10 Dura Ace groupset
Torelli ultra-lite wheelset with ceramic hubs
Conti S2000 tires
Nitto stem
Fizik saddle
Cinelli Nerve bars

This would be the ideal low-worry but high-speed bike. Would make a great commuter or weekend warrior ride.

Specialized Expedition 1983 51cm - $350 (Wellesley)

1983 Specialized Expedition in excellent working condition. This is a classic lugged construction steel vintage touring bike from the early 1980's. Mostly original parts except for the rear derailleur, saddle and bottom bracket. Has original internal wiring in the downtube for a dynamo. Completely overhauled with new cables, cable housing, repacked headset bearings and new tires and tubes. Exceptionally smooth riding! A few minor surface scratches in the paint but no dents or rust. Unlike most touring bikes of this era, the Expedition came with 700c wheels which gives many more tire options than are currently available for the more common 27 inch wheel size of the time. This bike would be an excellent touring machine or a commuter bike. The size would be best suited for someone between 5 ft 3 in and 5 ft 7 in. Asking $350 or b.o.

On the C&V edge - quill stem but brifters. '96, maybe? As usual, the information is less than encyclopedic, and the photos won't make the cover of Bicycling:

Never ceases to amaze me that people see no need for luggage, fenders, lights, etc on "commuter" bikes.

^^^^^^ Key-phrase is "fast commuter". Means the seller is either not carrying water/lunch/clothes, or traveling light with a backpack. Fenders are for winter, or in extremis, rain, neither of which this bike is likely to see. As for lights, maybe he rides close to the speed of light, making the use of conventional lights... complicated.
