I am 65 and retired for 3 years now but the bike I've ridden for 16 years now is a Sun Easyracer EZ Sport long wheel based recumbent. It's all about comfort and enjoying the view--no being hunched over the handlebars, no saddle to ever hurt my butt, no wrist pain (why would anyone ride a bike that causes them pain?). I don't ride for speed or distance. Since I don't own a car my bike is a tool, a piece of equipment for my transportation and for pulling my cargo trailer to haul everything I need to haul. But in all the years I've ridden this bike I never tire of hearing people of all ages call out to me, "Cool bike!" or "I love your bike' and I love the ride.
Actually this is my main bike because my back-up bike is also an EZ Sport, only red.

Wore out the Campy Record that the bike was built with in 2009. One small part on the right shifter broke and to get the bike going again would have been over $800 by the time all the worn parts were replaced. So I decided to just replace the groupset with Dura Ace 9100, same as my other bike. Should be good for another 20,000 km.

Mid-70s Hillman roadie - the sort of bike I couldn't possibly afford back then. Of course, at a shade over 21 lbs. in ye Imperial measure it's grossly heavy and unwieldy. Still, if, as I hope, I can strip 5Kg plus off the rider in coming months, that will be as good as bringing the bike under 10 pounds. And THAT, my friends, is seriously light weight ...
Nemo, I love the way you think,...I'm lightening my ride as well. Ride on!

The purple on the wheels is reflect strips. I found it on the Internet here https://www.ridewithfiks.com/ . They have different size based upon the size of your wheel and the type of brakes you have. It comes in a number of colors. I want to be seen! lol

These are the ones I ride the most.
This frame was a Christmas gift back in '73. I just recently finished what should be it's last rebuild.

I bought this frame and built it up back in (I think) 1993.

And this, my grail bike, I acquired a little over a year ago.

Thank you
Class seems to be a weighty quality. Rolls Royces are heavy, as are Range Rovers; no disputing that. This old Raleigh Roadster weighs exactly 47 lbs as you see it in the photo. On flat ground, once you build momentum, it's like rolling on a cloud. But it sure does punish you on the hills... that super-slack frame geometry means no standing on the climbs.
And on long descents? Or in the rain? There's a reason rod brakes are obsolete. I wonder how the English "Bobbies" managed that...

Great Thread
Sort of late to the party,but...... like most, if not all here, I have the multi bike syndrome.
This was my last aquisition so to speak. Have been doing the 3 speed English thing for about the last 10 yrs. My local bike shop knowing this one day offered me a old Sears (European build) that just came in. After the normal maintenance it hit the road. It is a current favorite as to a near perfect fit.
