Off topic, but there were a lot of Michigan connections to that Olympic velodrome. The builder, several officials, one of the on site announcers (a poster here on BF). And part of the venue security (the velodrome and as I remember the archery complex were together?) was a MI National Guard unit.

And then the US women went out and had over a second on them by the 125m mark, talk about a fast start. They almost held it too. When you have a 5s lead on 3rd place maybe they pulled back on purpose? Coach could easily slow them down 1/10th a lap and save them the effort.
I think its clear based on times it will be UKvsUS and AUSvsCAN, but its so close it could go either way in each race.

Add 15 to the x-axis to get the lap splits - I subtracted it to condense the x-axis and make the differences a bit clearer. They had a ~20.15 starting lap and then were in the low- to mid-15s for a while, until a few that were 16+. Although take these numbers with a healthy grain of salt - I didn't have a great view of the line on each lap when I took splits. It was dependent on whatever camera angles their producers were giving, and when.
What is clear is a slowdown in the last km. Whether they slowed down due to their 4th rider's removal, or due to their coach dialing them back a bit - not sure. It would be nice to go back to the video and look at who was pulling when and for how long.

Just rewatched the Team USA qualifier - Chloe Dygart did the lion's share, a 2 lap pull for her second and a 2.5 lap pull for her third. Absolutely NAILING the splits.
DAMN.

- GB Looked so much smoother - each rider looked smoother in the saddle, rode cleaner lines and they appeared to have smoother transitions.
- Thought I saw at least one or two USA riders pull themselves forward on their saddles using their bars a few times.
- USA looked less certain transitioning from front to back.
- Hope Chloe Dygert's knee is okay - it was taped up a bit.
- It is possible that USA backed off on purpose. I am hoping they did.

heh, I noticed that Valente is wearing bright yellow shoes - everyone else is in white. That's a nice way for coaches or viewers to be able to see the order.

regarding sprints:
-God damn UK...
-And Bos on a BT bike? I thought Kuga basically built him his own bike.
-I also thought Barette and Baronaski would have been in the sprint.

If you are not watching live, do not look at TP results. Go watch a replay of the men's TP gold run. Amazing ride.

Not sure, is she NZ? Im watching the CBC feed but I imagine its the same. They are kind of dull to be honest.
Sprints are fun to watch, but lets be honest, it better come down to Kenny and Glaetzer
