Assembling a 1982 Schwinn Deluxe Twinn fresh from the box
A customer that used to run a bicycle rental had four 1982 Schwinn Tandems tucked away in the original boxes and brought them into our shop a few weeks ago. They were to be assembled then auctioned for charity. I had the pleasure of getting to put all of them together myself and thought I might document the unboxing process a little bit for others to see how Chicago made Schwinns came fresh from the factory. I admit my filming and video editing abilities leave a great deal to be desired, but hopefully it get the point across. The bikes were 5 speed Schwinn DeLuxe Twinns with rear drum brakes.
For the curious they sold for $2000 each, more a charity auction price than a realistic value I imagine but still great.
I just wish I'd remembered to take off my goofy rain pants I still had on from the ride in to work before filming haha.
