Bianchi cycling shoes

My wife bought me a set of Bianchi cycling shoes from one of the vendors at the 2019 Eroica California event and I have yet to put them to use. I see them sitting there all boxed up and collecting dust. I still ride with what I refer to as traps and straps and am not interested in changing that. The bottom of the shoe has three holes , no cleats. When I went to the Trek Ventura store ( they have a whole section of cleats) and asked what type of cleat , they looked at me like a dear in headlights and just asked"why?" Like who does that!? I tried them out without cleats and flipping the pedal up is near impossible as the bottoms are slick. Right now I just use a flat , narrow tennis shoe , like a skate shoe. Van's are great! I am curious because I think a lot flexibility in the sole may not be good for my aging ankles. Perhaps , the stiff soles would keep my foot more properly aligned with the pedal. Plus, I would love to at least try them out .

Try Yellow Jersey in Arlington, Wi. They have a cleat with a slot that fits a 3 bolt shoe.

My pedals on my bikes are Campagnolo Superleggeri. I use them with the straps fairly loose to be able to slip in and out easily.

I'm really surprised those were sold at an eroica. I thought they forbid so-called clipless pedals, and thos hole look exactly like they are for 'clipless' road cleats. Without clips, I think they'd be great with clips and straps; maybe scuffing up the soles would solve the slipperiness.

I am the same, regular shoes, old school pedals, Campy, MKS, Soma Oppy dual gate clips and Christophe straps loose.

Can't handle clipless look and have a crooked ankle so no cleats or such.

You could check with a shoe shop about adding a protective sole like used on dress shoes and cowboy boots.

They are very thin and provide a lot of traction and would make them very usable all around.

They aren't cheap but wear like iron and I think would solve all the issues with these, walking around and flipping the pedal.

Standard Look pattern. You can get slotted cleats (for your pedals) online no problem.

They will typically only use the 2 holes nearer to your heel.

30,000 miles, or 2 Eroica rides?

That protrusion near the toe of the shoe may be hindering the shoe slipping onto the pedal.

Also, be VERY careful with toe-straps even loose with those shoes. That's because a toe-strap can get snagged between those shoe straps. Personally I'd not use such strap closures with toe-straps.

With that part near the toe of the shoe removed you should find it a lot easier to slip into the pedal.

Cheers

Thank you for guidance, I now know what I am looking for . The plastic ones on eBay that Mr Spadoni referenced seem pretty close to what I need.

Tx!

Lots more here.

Straps are brand new, still available, pedals were NOS and cages are SOMA

They exemplify the vibe I was going for..
