1980 Motobecane Grand Jubilee
Found a black frame red headset Grand Jubilee with Vitus 172 tubing and Suntour Cyclone components throughout. Also comes with the period correct rear rack. Original saddle and grips. Overall, bike is in really nice condition with very few blemishes, paint looks great (at least based on the pictures).
Here’s the dilemma, I think the bike is a good deal at $150 (let me know your thoughts)...but it is almost 3 hours away. I’m always up for a casual day trip but honestly it would have to be for a great deal, not just a good one. Any thoughts?

Good deal. Not great deal.
This one is available to me about two hours away for $120. Seems clean. I'm not going after it.

My daughter bought a 1978 Mixte version(not as desirable) for $100 .It was a few years ago and the bike was well used but nicely maintained. It had the Cyclone derailleurs and it was upgraded to Campagnolo Record hubs laced with SS spokes to Mavic hard anodized wheels. She no longer rides the bike, but I keep it because it is very well made and the components are worth holding on to. Joe joesvintageroadbikes.wordpress

Closing out the thread...the owner finally sold the Motobecane. I agree it was a good, but not great deal. Always hard to truly know the condition of a bike based on pictures alone. If pictures are taken from several feet away from the bike, any bike, with a little bit of cleaning, can be made to look good!
