I can also tell you that it works great for a 250 pound motor cycle. Not sure how it would do for a bicycle.

Seems like a bit of overkill. A moto weighs 10x-20x what a velo weighs, the trays are set up for something with a much longer wheelbase, and tires that are 2~3x thicker then bicycle tires.
Plus, you need rachet straps to hold the bike down with.
If you already have a moto carrier, or you have an 100lb LWB, Fat-tire Cargo E-bike, that is just so much bigger and heavier than a 'normal' bike, then, yeah, go for it; otherwise it's really overkill.
For the same $179, you can get a number of 2-bike 'platform' racks that are both lighter on your vehicle, and dont require any bodging to carry bicycles.

Thnk you. You're making sense; but I'm challenging that with my desire to not have another item taking up space in my garage. I do have a utility trailer, but don't always want to use it to haul my 350LB bike.

Sure it'll work, as long as you don't mind using ratchet straps.
It's kinda like using a hydraulic press to crush empty soda cans though
