need help activating turn by turn nav on wahoo bolt

I uploaded a couple of GPX files into my bolt via my phone. It seems to have transferred over but when I open the route I don't get any kind of navigation or turn-by-turn. I was hoping for directions to the start of my route and then by turn nav throughout

looking for recommendations on how to trouble shoot.

Where did you get the GPX files from and were they rides or routes? To get turn by turn the download has to be a route created by Strava or RideWithGPS. I haven't been able to get files downloaded from other sites to work with turn by turn on my Bolt. If you downloaded a ride, instead of a route, you won't get turn by turn; at least I've never been able to. If you have the paid version of RWGPS, you can upload a ride to it and convert it to a route, then download it to your Bolt.

To get turn-by-turn from RWGPS you have to create the route in RWGPS and sync your Wahoo Fitness account with RWGPS.

I think the same process applies to Komoot but I've never tried it.

If you create a RWGPS route, download it, and manually upload it to your Wahoo the turn-by-turn won't work. You have to sync your accounts.

It works with the free RWGPS app, but I think you have to manually create the route in RWGPS. I'm not sure.

Also, Wahoo Support is pretty responsive.

You can create your own route with RWGPS or you can copy a route from someone elses account to yours then download it. It has to be a route as a ride won't work with turn by turn. Also, you can pin someone elses route and it will show up in your account as if it's one of your routes. A pinned route will show up in the Wahoo companion app as a route that you can select and move it to your Bolt or sync it directly from your Bolt. I do this all the time with routes that my friends create. Simply unpin the route when you're done with the ride and it will be removed from the Bolt on the next sync.
