What's your NEXT commuter bike build/purchase gonna be?

My commuter is perfect at the moment and I consider it a tool to get me to/from work and running errands.
I spend my cash on mountain bike stuff and lately on retro frames. I've been collecting and building mtbs at an alarming rate. At least they'll be used for the occasional commute to mix things up.

My Elwood frame was delivered just a couple of days ago, and the folks at my LBS are busy finishing up the build for me. If you'd like, I'll let you know how the finished product turns out.

I have no idea, although the Renovo Elwood looks intriguing. Pricey? Yeah, but I'm putting in 5k+ miles a year commuting. My current steed is my '92 Cannondale T600 touring bike with 85k miles on it. As components have worn out, it's been upgraded to the Ultegra/XTR/XT level and is still serving me very well.

Now that I am commuting in colder weather, I need a "winter" bike (California winter is mostly an oxymoron, but it does rain). The Trek 7.5 FX with disc brakes will be the one. Also looking to spend some of my unexpected bonus at work on Dinotte XML-3.

Frame is finally in, it's an On-One Dirty Disco. Just ordered Avid BB7s road disc brakes, SRAM Force gruppo, DT Swiss RR 465 rims with CK ISO Disc hubs and CK bottom bracket. Going to throw some Schwalbe Marathon Supreme Tires (700x28, maybe 32 even) on it for commuting. Hopefully I'll be on it soon as my six13 is taking a beating out there.

A new tube for the front tire. My bike fell over while I was pumping it up and ripped the valve.

If the money gets right in the first months of 2012 this will be my next commuter/brevet/training bike https://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebik...roraelite.html
I was looking at heavier duty touring bikes but I think the Aurora Elite is a pretty good balance between an Endurance Road frame and a Full Touring bike.
n+1 probably a Rodriguez or a Salsa Vaya Ti

I'm going to buy some hand-built wheels for my commuter bike in January for my birthday. I've got an Ultegra/Open Pro rear wheel with a cracked rim, and plan to replace the rim with DT Swiss 465s and build a matching front wheel to match it. My mechanic says the 32H DT wheels will be stronger than 36H Open Pros and I trust him on that because he's a master wheel builder. Since this wheelset will be for commuting and light touring, I don't want something strong but reasonably light and these should fit the bill.

I need a Surly LHT.
I don`t have a huge stable... I have a 3 season urban-touring and a winter-mountain.
My urban-touring needs replacement this spring - and I`m shootin` for real steel.
