Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If someone mistakes it for that I frankly am not interested in riding with them.

The only time I've ever seen ~125-150 grown men cringe was when we were lined up at a SuperWeek race, and the organizers start talking about Eddy Van Guyse, and then he comes on stage. Repeat that 16 more times, and you have SuperWeek.

"And now, the villain Italian in the cycling classic 'Breaking Away', it's Eddy Van Guyse!...".

He's a perfect example of someone who has outlived their 15 minutes of fame, and needs to give up the ghost.

I was going to say that that double meaning would go well with your hipster friends, but I don't really know if emo and hipster are the same or if they are just two links of the same poop sausage.

The amount of work to stitch that photo together in the dark room would be intense, I doubt it's a negative sandwich. Probably a promo shot or from a set photographer.

I made a shirt like that and would always wear it on club rides because I couldn't afford a jersey and I'm th only one on the rides with Downtube shifters and a non-carbon bike.

I only ever had one older guy make a comment about it, but we had a nice chat about the "old days". And I'm not that old...
