ID This Mid-Late 80's Schwinn?

Can anyone help ID this Schwinn frame? It appears to be very well made but has no make/model indication or even a tubing sticker which is odd since the paint etc appears to be in near perfect shape. Not sure if the fork is original, but it is a chrome Tange number with Tange T-R dropouts. Since it's a bit hard to make out in the pics, the serial number on the head tube badge is 1149 and the number on the bb shell is B965125. Thanks in advance for any info!

Try here:

Schwinn catalogs, 1981 - 1990

Chrome fork does not seem correct. Look for any damage on the top tube and down tube in case someone ran into something with this and jacked up the fork.

Except for the fork and color it looks exactly like my 1986 Super Sport. The pump peg on the back of the head tube, the seat cluster, and the cable guides on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell are a dead givaways. It looks like someone had the frame repainted metallic blue (and replaced the decals) because to my knowledge Schwinn never used metallic colors, especially in the 1980's. The fork must have been replaced or re-chromed at that time, too.

The head badge suggests an '89, and seat stay caps are consistent with high-end 89 models. Are the seat stays aero / ovalized? It looks like an 89 Circuit repaint to me but I'm not an expert.

That's no repaint imo, and I see what looks like profiled seatstays a la '88 Circuit.

also, Tange aero chrome fork would have been original to the 89 Circuit.

In any case, it looks like a great score. Does it have a story?

I'd have to say 1989 as well based on catalog looks...
