Haven't done much to this......just changed the stock wheels for a set of 50mm carbon clinchers from Amazon and a set of Continental Grand Prix 4 Season (Black Edition) tires in size 28mm.
Here are the links for the wheels and tires:

This thread is making me want to dust off my hybrid and make some upgrades so I can ride it more often. Probably haven't been on it since the winter. I only use it locally if I need to go somewhere under 5 miles and I need to lock it up. Wanting to get some chunky tires and fenders and use it as my winter commuter.

Just acquired my first bicycle in 20+ years. Specialized CrossRoads 3.0 (2021). Excited as a coked up teen. Won't let me post a photo because it's my first post. Lame.

Thanks for posting my picture. The last bicycle I had was something Soviet in mid 90s back in my early teens. Before settling on Crossroads, I test rode Trek Domane AL4 and Specialized Sirrus X 4.0. Both were too harsh for fitness rides around local neighborhoods with not bad, but not great surface quality. As soon as I got on Crossroads 3.0 - I knew, as a 1st stepping stone into the biking world, it was it for me. Thus far, rode it for 5-7 mi and my legs are falling off. Impatiently waiting for them to recover, so I can ride again 😀

My 2021 Dual Sport 2. I've got Ergon GP3 grips in the post and I've added some SKS Chromotplastic mudguards (the front a right pain because of the suspension!), Aaron urban pedals and I've swapped out the 40mm stock tyres for some smoother 35mm Conti's. It's already a superb commuter bike and I've enjoyed 40-50 mile weekend rides on it, no bother. It should serve me well while I save up for a road bike next year.

My Sirrus in its current form - RaceFace pedals, better tires. Specialized Stix lights on both ends (front off duty that day), QuadLock phone mount, etc.

Not very artistically staged, however.

I agree, It's definitely mostly about frame specs...Hybrids tend to be longer frames, and no rear suspension for starters, then the drivetrain is geared more like a road bike. I have a Scott Sportster that's considered a hybrid. Put some nice wide diamond back straight bars on it, running 27 1/2" wheels with 2.50" wide tires, I'd go wider if I could but, anyways...I notice its a bit on the heavy side, but It rides real nice...even with knobbies on the tar, and with the Rock Shox Recon forks, its a monster when it comes to climbing curbs, logs, stumps....But at the end of the day, even if I change my gears and go with a 1X setup, I suppose it could be almost considered a hardtail MTB, but at the end of the day the frame design is always going to keep me in the "Hybrid Zone". I wasn't intending on building this bike when I started out, but it grew on me and after a lot of money, and my literal blood sweat and tears it became a great bike for what I needed...I use it to get around town to shop, I take it riding on the trails, I carry a ton of gear for camping, even pull a trailer when I need to carry a ton of crap. I've gotten off topic, basically I could strip it down to nothing and put bmx tires on it, and it'll still be a hybrid....

2014 Cannondale Quick6. Ebay find, updated cockpit, pedals, tires, brakes, saddle. Might get new wheels over winter, maybe even drivetrain although I don't want to bust the budget on it..

Here's my hybrid bike. I want to swap some things out on it, in the coming months. Longer handlebars, a replacement for the pressed crank, and maybe upgrade the shifting system from a 21 speed to a 27 speed. Hopefully I can knock a little bit of weight off of it.

If the drivetrain is working nicely, and the spread of gearing works for your riding, I wouldn’t upgrade to 27 speed.

21 gears are plenty if they’re the right gears!

nice little hybrid.

Pretty new here as far as posting goes, but I thought this would be a fun place to share my 2012 Charge Scourer, now referred to as Charge EVO III. Second photo is the day I got it, I fully rebuilt it as a single speed city ripper, and then completely disassembled the bike and built the version in the first pic, hence, EVO III. Hope you enjoy it, ask me anything about it.

Thanks. I'll stick to 21 gears, and hopefully replace the front crank is something a little lighter.

It’s only new once. Might as well have a pic of the way you got really.

But, while you are at it, the dork disc can go as well. 😜
