REI has Hydro Flasks on sale at around 70% off. I slip my steel bottles into a tube sock. Cuts any rattle and absorbs the condensation that metal bottles produce

I can see it now, every bike trail paved in shards of broken glass from dropped glass water bottles. Please, no!!!

Plastic water bottles are fine, if you want to use something else use stainless.
