My favorite fixie, an '06 Waterford RS-22, with stainless e-richie Newvex lugs. AKA "Purple Haze," or "The Bicycle Formerly Known As Prince," if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing.

The metalflake paint is incredibly halucinatory in real life, on the spin. Can't really get the full effect in photos. I've had other riders jokingly request I not ride in front of them during group rides, because they can't pay attention to the road with the visual vibes pulsating from my tubes.

These photos are from a couple/few builds/years ago.

It's Dormant Purple from Columbia Coatings, with their Violet Sapphire Chameleon used as the clear/catalyst.
Much like pcb's Waterford above, the effect in bright sunlight is stunning. It goes from deep cobalt to twinkling bright purple "boat flake", depending on which tube angle you're viewing.
I've had the Powdercoat Man do a few frames for me in this color, and I love it. However the latest frame he's doing for me (pssst... rhymes with Prologue) will be a multi-color fade that uses Prismatic Illusion Purple as one of the colors under the same Violet Sapphire Chameleon overcoat. Stay tuned.

I don't have any new purple bikes, but I still have this old one. Here it is yesterday. Today it has (not shown) a new chain and cassette.

I might have shown this before, but it's my custom built Veloce that I had built for me in around 1986 by John Stinsman in Allentown, PA. Paint job fades from Dark Rose Metallic at the top to Light Rose Metallic at the bottom.

Austro Daimler

Hi, I tried to upload pictures of my Austro Daimler Ultima Superleight but I guess I haven’t been active enough in this forum to be able to display images. Guess that’s a sensible precaution. Too bad though. It’s a pretty bike.

Glad you're here, you only need 10 posts for pics, 5 X 2 days, just keep commenting to get there.

Its an anti-spam measure and works great so it is what it is, small price to pay for this.

Thanks merziac!

My resolve is not that strong, though it did take a little too long to build it, mostly because the USPS lost my Phil BB for about a month before finding it again. I've been riding it for a while now. The purple is hard to capture with a cell phone. I had to bring along my real camera for purple bike month.

I had a Panasonic Team America, purchased at a garage sale, that I refurbished and built for a family member. Initially it was kind of sad. Old Dura Ace in decent shape but someone had tried to drill out the sew-up rims to accept a Schrader valve. Even despite that a beautifully crafted Columbus frame in a useful geometry. As far as I know it’s still going strong many road miles later.
