Peloton Shelter Dog
The Boxster S rocks (2018, PDK). Smaller, lighter car with less hp, but almost identical straight line performance. A little less lateral grip, but the most fun I've ever had driving a car. The power top goes up and down in 10 seconds flat which is fantastic. Highest quality cars on the market, the interior is amazing. Pricey cars, but they do sell 60,000 of them annually in the US (most of them SUVs). I can see why.

But what she was wearing wasn't even fashionable. And while I was waiting for the bus home there was a young woman sitting in the shelter literally shivering. While she did have on a thick sweater, it was cotton, and she was also wearing jeans, which are poor insulators. Missing from her wardrobe was a damn coat. By then the temperature had dropped and it was very windy, especially due to all the tall buildings. They create wind tunnel areas.

Aesthetically, it's a weird mish-mash, with the patterns, matte sections, glossy sections and that odd baby blue seat tube portion... without all of that visual noise, I think it would look really sharp. I'm have to assume that there's more going on than is readily apparent in this photo, too, if that won Best Road; the rear "dropout" (what is that called on a thru axle bike, anyway?) area looks a little diffrnt, for example.

IKR? I get big working vehicles. I don't need a big working vehicle, and most people that have them don't either, but I get it. Big non-working vehicles, though? Lost on me. But if it doesn't make sense, I guess you might as well make it luxurious, too.

I walked the dogs in the rain this morning. I have no concept of zone 5. I finally learned to accept(grudgingly) the look of a threadless stem, and now there are disc brakes on everything. Double yuuck. Double dog yuuck. Congrats on the getting laid part, and on the new car. We're off to a garden tour in a few minutes. In the now continual rain. For weeks,(months)? with a day or two break occasionally.
I read a short story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, recently, in which the rain finally came after a long hot dusty dry season. It came in as church was letting out, rained continually, night and day, and by Thursday afternoon, they no longer knew what day of the week it was, or what time of day.

Here is the Best in Show winner. Annodized ti frame. I would totally ride that like I stole it. Wish they had included eyelets and seat stay brazeons for a rear rack. Maybe you could double up using the fender eyelets and get a seat post collar attachment for the top part of the rack, or is the latter already included on the seat post? Talk about commuting in style.

Compact SUVs are just four-door hatchbacks. Rabbits are utilitarian, but Tiguans are hip.
Maybe.

Yeah. I was speaking from a truly aesthetic point of view.

If/when my ship comes in. A few years ago at the Philly Bike Expo, the guy behind Engin displayed, among other things, a ti commuter he built for a customer. 1x drive train and attachment points for racks and fender. He said the customer was going to us it solely for commuting. Must be nice.

It wouldn't be if you drove it for a few days. That being said I'll buy my Subaru Crosstrek @ lease end for $20K. Fantastic car, an AWD comfy and reasonably luxurious wagon that manages 28-34 mpg with a roof rack no less. You could drive that car up Mt. Snow in the winter, best car I ever drove in the snow. The Subie and the Crosstrek are the ideal car combo for me. I did love the Macan, but too pricey.
