Not light but these will be absolutely bombproof with Shimano hubs and 32 spokes. Should be awesome for load carrying.

Bikes: Co-Motion Cappuccino Tandem,'88 Bob Jackson Touring, Co-Motion Cascadia Touring, Open U.P., Ritchie Titanium Breakaway, Frances Cycles SmallHaul cargo bike. Those are the permanent ones; others wander in and out of the stable occasionally as well.

With that Shimano hub they are a small step above a factory wheelset on a lower-end bike. Pretty cheap though! Maybe look at the Shimano GRX wheelset as well at $418 for a set that is more than a pound lighter than the Merlins to provide an even bigger upgrade at a still reasonable price.
