Maybe he can't figure out what's wrong and that's why he's selling it?

This is advertised as a Pearl Izumi jersey, but clearly has a Performance logo. The description did say "Performance made by Pearl Izumi", so I'll trust that they may have made some stuff for Performance at some time. But it is also advertised as neon yellow/Black. Oddest shade of high viz yellow I've ever seen.

^ Dude, I'd buy it and go sell it in Butte... after I jumped it over a few flaming cars...

The awesomeness doesn't end here...
The AMF disc brakes are for when you're landing that 70 foot jump over the flaming cars.

Gitane Super Olympics were of course touring bikes... because that's what ALL Olympic cyclists did... they just toured around.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Used...item51a318b190

I think I may have glimpsed into the dark heart of BBC Bikes. I looked up a mid-seventies catalog on the Gitane forum (I have a 1973 TdF) and found a price for a 1975 Gitane Olympic in French Francs. I then calculated the average exchange rate for 1975, converted it to dollars, then used an inflation calculator to see what it would cost in today's dollars and got remarkably close to the BBC asking price of $2849 (only $150.66 S/H).

So apparently they are able to do enough research to find out that Huret Spider Web dropouts are "cool" and and might even be able to find out the original asking price but can't correctly ID a bike nor grasp the concept of depreciation. To be fair, I can't quite ID it myself (could be an Interclub), but it most certainly is NOT their top of the line Super Olympic.

I know that this is off topic, but I find it extremely amusing. You would think that a law office would be smarter than to submit this ad...and it sure seems like they're asking a lot for a menial salary.

[h=2] Custom fixed gear. Lugged - $250 (tempe)This isn't your dads ****ty foax carbon Tri bike that he pisses all over. This is mother***er is like that ******bag from highshools crotchrocket on cocaine. [/h]
First things first. Yeah its steel, Why? Because only men run this sh*t. If you want zipp wheels and a track frame just go ahead and click on the men seeking men section.
OH BUT IS IT FOREIGN? Nope. Why? Because if you buy vintage lugged frames your letting the terrorist win. YEUP, Its a schwinn. 'Merica. These colors dont run.
Wheels? I got you. Alex 700c's laced to aluminum track hubin the rear with sealed cartridge bearings, and a quick release in the front so you can fit it in your limited edition mini cooper.
No areo wheels here. Those meat whistles better be ready to charge this beast to hell and back
Gearing? Sh*t. 15t cog in the rear and a 52t chainring in the front to run down the guy infront of you on a state with two brakes and a freewheel putting down mill.
Bars, We have some lax bro drops. Low enough for you to get that face down a*s up mash, but as comfy as a damn sofa to tote that six pack of sh*tty I.P.A's you got from a local brewery.
Not ontly that, these beasts are freshly wrapped up in some cinelli cork tape so you can impress the guy at cartel with the handle bar mustache.
Sprayed Matte black for those late night solo missions so you can blend in like wesley snipes in space, And chrome tips so people know you ball out.

*Every bearing excluding the bottom bracket (which was overhauled) has less than 20 miles on it. Also including the complete wheelset and tires/tubes and a new chain*

Seller thinks: "Man, how am I ever going to sell this bike? I know! I'll bash the exact demographic I'm selling to and then at the end I'll say something racist. Bingo"

Aren't we over "hipsters" yet? Bashing them is even worse.

It's Craig's List, though. The free-for-all nature of it guarantees you'll get a few of these listings. There are feral people in the world.

Aren't we over "hipsters" yet?
Hipsters aren't over hipsters yet, so, no, probably we're not.

Bashing them is even worse.
Why?

Do they need protection from the critique they so easily and gleefully dish out to others? (#ItGetsBetter)

Are hipsters "special" or something?

Here's the bottom line - Whenever a subculture engages in things like the Occupy movement, "Critical Mass" and naked bike rides through large urban centers (such as happens in Philadelphia), that subculture really ought to expect to take a little flack. Cities are aggravating enough as it is without having trust fund kids driving up the price of the vintage iron, clown-converting it, then riding it poorly and without regard for traffic laws.
