I must agree they're both killer bikes. I am waiting to see the up-to-date photos on the Tomassini but the Colnago is spectacular.

Here's one at home from a month ago of the Tommasini Super Prestige.

Sadly, I must report that I am hanging the Sintesi on a hook permanently.
Found a crack in the drive side chainstay. I just don't have the stomach to do a replacement and a repaint.

What a great photo with the ride ahead of you? Such a nice bike, great photo!!!
I'm very sad to read about the Sintesi. It must be like a serious accident to a family member.

Nice Super Prestige Grady. Tis a shame about the crack in the chain stay. I was going to post a pic of mine on BF but I see Flick'r has screwed up their website. If anyone knows the new way to post pics from Flick'r I'm all ears.

As for the Sintesi, I have thought about parting out the Chris King headset and the Air front fork. For now, it will hang there. On the shop wall to admire. Maybe I'll bump into someone that is ambitious enough to install a new stay. Won't be me though.
A friend thought I should ship it back to the Tommasini factory and have them do a complete refinish.
I shudder to think what that may run for shipping both ways, plus the refinish.

Grady...Weren't you the one that spurred me on to take on replacing the stays in the Vittorio?
Replace the stay.
There's gotta be a young builder in the Twins that can take on the project for reasonable money...respray the affected areas only...get back to riding it!

Maybe you should call Tommasini in San Diego and enquire. A few years ago a BF friend sent his frame to Tommasini in Grossetto for a repaint and was actually easier to swallow than you would think. Maybe something worth looking into

The difference is I am really watching the shillings nowadays.
Our oldest son is starting college soon and our youngest isn't that far behind.
I'll have the frameset on the wall and maybe I'll get the gumption later.
Fwiw I contacted Alex at ATrain to get a quote. When you add up the cost of a stay and to repaint the impacted area, it gets to be more than I feel like spending atm.

Sorry about the cracked stay Grady. Maybe you should talk to Chris Kvale and see what he would want to do it?
