Multiple helmets?

For the past five years, I've been riding with one helmet - a Fox Flux MTB helmet. I use it with my mountain bike, my gravel grinder, and my C&V road bike. Just wondering how many of you have and use multiple helmets of different styles? Do you see any benefits for having and using more than one helmet? Thanks.

This one with 42 Vents attracted hot women. Had to quit wearing it.

Currently use 4 helmets. Different colors. My winter helmet is a little bigger and has fewer vents than my summer helmets. Good for when I need to wear a hat under my helmet.

Different bikes and different weather give you different requirements. So sure, multiple helmets. I currently mostly use a too-heavy, previous-generation Nutcase watermelon helmet and sometimes wish for better. I also sometimes use a Smith Holt snow helmet.

I have several. I'm not sure where they all are now ... and the most accessible one is a titanium coloured one to go with my titanium bicycle, but I've got yellow and blue somewhere too.

I have a couple of old ones collecting dust. Just got a new one, so my previous one gets bumped to winter duty with vents taped over.

One helmet is one too many. I can't imagine wasting money on two or more.

im a "non helmet guy" who wears a helmet. I dislike wearing them for a casual cross country mtb ride But with the state of todays drivers , i always wear one on the road, unlike 20-25 years ago when i wore one perhaps 50% of the time on the road

For years i have worn Bell products due to their motocross tie in, as i am an avid mx'er, and usually run one for a year then replace it. I wear the same lightweight heavilly vented helmet for road and lighter Mtb use,
But if i am hitting a trail with some jumps i have a "Super D" type helmet with a bit more coverage at the expense of being heavier and hotter
Full on downhill or BMX i use a carbon fiber (to keep the weight down) motorcycle helmet - i am really sensitive to a heavy helmet on the bike, but not so much a motorcycle for some reason.

7. I had to look around and count them. Three are broken from crashes so are just museum pieces.

Pretty interesting responses! I'm thinking it's time to get a new helmet - the Flux has taken a couple really hard hits (I won't go near a MTB trail without a helmet anymore). I'm looking at a Troy Lee helmet that feels really good, but after reading these responses, I think I'll look for a nice road helmet, too. Thanks!

Two. One I use on road bike rides, and an old one for my short commute that I can leave in the outdoor locker at the station.

6 or 7 I think - plus 2 snowboard/ski helmets for winter.

one reason I like to have multiples - too many places to leave it around the garage and house. My current favorite mt helmet is MIA right now - remember seeing it in the garage but not sure where.

I need to clean the garage

I have four in regular use, depending on season and type of ride. The most important for me to have in the mix is a lightweight, well-vented helmet to move heat off my head during summer rides. Really, with a selection of caps and a helmet cover, I could make that same helmet, currently an Uvex Boss Race, work for most every need, but I do like having my Giro Air Attack Shield and Dux Helm, both of which have lens visors, for cold and rain rides. My Torch T1 with integrated lights is great for dashing around town.

I do have a couple of older, replaced helmets which I keep around as extras, but they rarely get used except if the kids have friends and they want to ride, and stuff like that.

I've got two "regular" road helmets and one aero helmet that I only wear during tris. One of the road helmets came with a bike I bought.

I wear a slightly sunfaded Trek roadie helmet, same one I've had since 2011 and my first.

A normal well vented helmet for road riding, a MIPs helmet with more coverage for MTBing and a skater type helmet with almost no vents and sized for a toque underneath for winter riding.

I had a cheapee wall mart one for many years, but I rarely ever rode a bike, just had a entry level mountain bike.

Last year ('14) I got my first road bike and got a lot more serious about cycling. Earlier this year, thought it was time to finally try some cycling-specific clothing and gear upgrades... so bought a matched set of jersey/shorts and also a really expensive (IMO) helmet that matched it too. Besides the looks, I thought it would be interesting to see if the pricey helmet was more comfortable, cooler, lighter, etc. And it pretty much was in all 3. Very pleased.

When I am not biking, tin foil works good enough
