Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lucky you, doesn't look like I'm going to get my fork anytime soon and even if BMC said the fork is ready it doesn't look like for the foreseeable future there will be a BMC dealer open to do the swap over

Just a quick update from me
Had to return home from Spain to Ireland at the beginning of April due to the covid situation
Contacted BMC middle of April to enquire of any update and was told the fork was shipped to Spanish dealer mid March and to make contact with them
Informed BMC that I am no longer in Spain, I had previously informed them I would only be there till April and that It's not suitable for me to deal with this shop
BMC informed me that because I made the recall claim with this shop that that is where the recall has to be done

Luckily in the meantime BMC finally appointed a dealer in Dublin, so I made contact with them, told them the story, they contacted the UK distributor
And I'm delighted to say the shop called me yesterday to tell me they have my fork in the shop and will do the swap over shortly

Congratulations! It's about time.

I recently sold my SLR01 Disc. I loved the bike. But as with the high end bikes from Specialized and Trek, the degree of "integration" has created problems we never had to deal with before the integration fad took hold. I dealt with the seatpost issue. I dealt with the fork issue. Before another issue arises, I said goodbye to my beloved BMC.
