Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Decided that I got tired of the Flak Jacket XLJs letting a little too much wind through, especially on descents....built these up at the Oakley Store today.

2 of these, 20 h and 24 h.

One of my off-season projects is rebuilding the wheels on my TriCross. These will make good replacements for the stock Roval Pave hoops.

wow, I'd never seen that saddle before. 145g, and WW have measured it lower? no wonder Tioga's website says "Tioga therefore advise riders to replace the SPYDER saddle after one full year for safe and effective operation."

sure is light though!

one of the new road cycling addicts at work bought this for the parts and I was looking for a lowcost (not cheap) carbon frame and I think I got a good deal. I am going to build it with "shop parts" so it will be a bit franken bikish. if I like the ride then I'll look for a modern Ergo 'kit' for it.

But a saddle with a bunch of sharp edges on it? No freaking way that thing is comfortable. I'll be interested to hear.

I got lucky then, mine clicks and the seat post didn't explode. All I know is if one of their wrenches is good enough for precision work like engine builds, it's good enough for carbon even if it's not exactly spec. There's a range to be within on torque specs in my Felt manual, I just use the lower portion of that range so I have room for error. It's fine.
