Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Stacked my new and very expensive Spécialités TA 14-28 cassette onto the hub of my old road bike. No B-screw adjustment needed, but I did have to order a new chain.

So my company is sponsoring a group of employees for a Bike MS event here in June. They're offering to buy us company-branded kit from some no-name supplier, but they'd be NOT BIBs and "standard" cut jerseys. Am I a snob for turning that down and just riding in my cool kid NOT NOT BIBS and team jersey? Ain't nobody got time for riding a century in crappy kits after all the money I've invested in finding stuff I've liked.

True, but what if the jersey is a bit loose? How many seconds will I drop due to aero drag???

Think of how much more food you could stuff in those baggy pockets at the refueling stations. I'm pretty sure that you need 100 cal for every two miles, so the pockets will be a lifesaver.

Might be effective but I don’t think it’s good for your health. I hope you are feeling better soon!

This bit of inspiration hit me yesterday morning. That's the logo of the century put on by HWSNBN. It's canceled for this year, but we weren't going to do it anyway.

I flippantly drank coffee with dinner, knowing a) my system would accept it and b) that I wouldn't have anything on the table tomorrow except continuing recovery.
In other news, I am back to full time html mode on the mobile site.
