Bianchi Quattro 90 dollars
Greetings! I was browsing second hand bikes when I came across this beat up looking bianchi. After looking more closely at it, I saw the tubes to be columbus cromor. The moddell is quattro. For 950 SEK, (90-ish dollars) the frame seems to me a steal. What do you think? blocket .

(take out the spaces around the full stop between "blocket" and "se" to get a functioning link. I had to cheat a little here as I can't yet post links )

It's a 1989 Bianchi Quattro. Condition is only fair. Lots of chips, scratches, dirt, torn saddle, missing brake lever hoods, rusty chain, flat tyres. Non-OEM front wheel but I don't see signs of crash damage. It will require a complete overhaul and probably replacement of most, if not all consumables. The Accushift indexed shifting system is obsolete and not compatible with current systems, so if the shift levers, rear derailleur and/or freewheel need replacing, you may have issues obtaining parts. I don't know the Swedish market but I wouldn't call it a steal. It's also a very large frame, for a very tall person. If it doesn't fit you, it will be harder to flip. Proceed with caution, you may have to expend a lot of time and money to get it into riding condition.

Couldn't have said it better than T-Mar. I have an almost identical bicycle, although Puch branded made by Bianchi/Piaggio. It is a nice riding bicycle, very nice frame. You have to consider the cost of getting it road worthy with the one you linked, and of course it has to be your size.
This may be better suited to the appraisal thread, too.

Thanks for the input. Generally bianchis here go for above at least 1800. I planned, however, on putting parts i had at home on it and using it as a shop-racer - one to which aesthetics aren't too important. I didn't realize that the shifters were obsolete though... The seller says its a 60 cm frame, in which case it would fit me well (I have another bianchi sized 60). But perhaps it would be too hard to eventually flip. The seller seems to have vanished anyway, so we'll see what tommorow brings!
