I hope this isn't too far off topic...
But has anybody else noticed their local Sears store advertising on Craigslist?

Craftsman Tools!!!!

I suppose I'm a little surprised I'm not seeing more of this kind of thing, but it does seem a little desperate.

While I don't buy a lot from Sears, I do have quite a few Craftsman tools that I've picked up over time. I have been extremely disappointed that the company has begun importing most of their Craftsman branded tools, and wonder if that is taking a toll on their sales, especially as their prices aren't reflecting the move from USA to China.

Just a hunch, but by the way that ad was written, it probably wasn't Sears that posted that.

It was likely posted by someone who works in the tool department who is trying to draw in some customers.

They closed all my local Sears stores, the closest one to me now is 30 miles away. I knew the end was near for the Sears stores when they started selling Craftsman tools at the KMart right next door to the Sears store. Craftsman tools haven't been the same for years, I have my original Craftsman ratchets I got for graduation in 1973 and a couple I bought about 5 years ago. They look the same but they sure don't feel the same and they won't warranty crap. I have rebuild kits I got in 1978 for each of my original ratchets but I think I'm going to have to use them in the new stuff instead! I started buying 2nd hand Snap-On tools, they're cheaper than new Craftsman, better quality and if I break one the Snap-On man will still honor the guarantee as long as they don't show evidence of being used by Primitive Pete.

Nothing wacky about that Bianchi ad. This thread is where we post the weird, or overpriced stuff.

The thread you want to post about the good stuff that you find for sale by someone is here: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...e-part-ii.html

He may look a little pudgy... but he is quick.

Last week he caught a Trek Alpha 1.1.

Yesterday he drug home a Specialized S-Works Tarmac which will be posted on Craigslist as soon as the handlebar tape with the bite marks is replaced.

He wouldn't look so dejected if only his owners had bought him the proper pet hauler.

^ I don't think sellers listing MSRP values is so weird. It's a shorthand way of saying how good the bike was in its day. I take a bigger issue with 99% of sellers pulling that number out of their behinds. Plus I don't think they take into account how much their modifications hurt value. Case in point:

An interesting handlebar setup. Adapter to BMX bars with outward facing, past 90 degree mounted bar ends. Brake levers facing backwards.

[h=2]$100 Proflex 555 in Great condition - $100 (hennipen county, MN)[/h]$100 Proflex 555 in Great condition

Selling my green proflex 555 mountain bike only asking $100 its in great condition its worth the money if interested plz text or call 612..Two..Nine..Six.2083 and ask for james bike comes as is and its bluebook value is around $300 serious buyers only plz tyvm....
