My handle is . . .
The result of my name being Robert. Anyway, here in California (as probably in many states) automobile license plates have a maximum of seven letters/numbers. So for my personalized plates and being how they’re on my car (aka sled) naturally I came up with bobsled. Makes sense doesn’t it? The reason I bring this up is because someone asked. So how about the rest of you?

My name is Gary Mason. Hmmm...not too clever, that. OTOH, I have a ton of places that I frequently log on to, and I am too old to remember a bunch of different User IDs. I get hacked off when someone is already there, and I have to use 'gmason4' or something like that. Life is sometimes very hard.

Chewa is a nickname my wife uses for me. Don't know why, but she likes it so I do too.

My real name (on my birth certificate) is Denver "C" Fox. But, I was born in San Diego, CA.
I was named for my dad, whose real name was Denver Colorado Fox. He was born in Santa Monica, CA. I was supposed to be Denver Colorado Fox, Jr., but the nurse in the hospital made an error on the birth certificate, and my mom was sort of dopey from the anesthetic and signed the birth certificate without reading it carefully.
My grandparents lived in Colorado (Marshall) north of Denver just prior to my dad's birth in Santa Monica about 1912, and ran a coal mine.
So, why am I not Marshall C Fox??
When my sister was born in San Diego, the newspaper called and wanted to know if her name would be "San Diego California Fox."
I now live in the Denver area. There used to be a lot of theaters nationally known as "Fox" theaters. There was a theater named the "Denver Fox Theater." I used to get phone calls asking what movie was playing (at the Denver Fox) that night.
When my wife and I got married, the clerk at the marriage license bureau almost refused to give us a license because I kept saying my name was Denver Fox, and she kept saying she wanted my name, not where I lived. The same thing happens to me continuously in phone conversations with mail-order or motel/hotel reservations, etc.!!
No one ever forgets my name - for better or worse!!
Confusing, isn't it.
I did not name my sons Denver Colorado Fox the third!!

Harry...
because I once had a computer called Harry. I don't know why I called it Harry. Actualyy I called it other names as well but they would not be suitable to use as a handle.

Because I am Giovanni Marco Velocipedio, a direct descendant of the inventor of the first bicycle, after whom it -- the velocipede -- was named.
That is my story, and I'm sticking to it.

My Great Grandfather was the guy who first started making the cheap steel bikes that are sold to X-Marts. I am ashamed of my horrible past, but I must look to the future. This is why I will only buy cheap aluminum bikes.

I just changed my handle to Captain Crunch after visiting my massage therapist a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time seeing this one and when she started to work on my shoulders she told me how "crunchy" I was. As she continued on she kept referring to the crunchiness and then penned me with the name Captain Crunch. I liked it so much I asked Joe if he would change my login name to match.
Thanks again Joe.

"Nobby" is a traditional name for all "Clarks". I am a Clark. I was given the nick in 66 when I joined the navy. It's pretty much stuck. There are a few stories about the origin of the nick, none of which have ever been confirmed, but apparently it started in the UK WAY back in the days of sail. Evidently it's an old Royal Navy traditional nick.
In my youth, I also had knobby knees, which is of course, of no consequence at all.

My paternal grandmother, who was born in Surrey but lived much of her life in Hawaii, liked to be called "TuTu" (Hawaiian for grandmother), but said anything was OK except "Granny." When I was 12, I started calling her "Granny," and she retalliated by calling me "Johnnie -- well, he is John E., you know." This good-natured "feud" lasted until she died several years ago, at 92. When I needed a forum handle, this seemed like a nice memorial.
The Eldon surname apparently goes back to clan MacIntosh, as a variant of "Elder." By tradition, the firstborn males have been named John and Charles in an alternating generational pattern.

Mine's due to one of my other hobbies, flying, some of which I do upside down (some times even intentionally!). It also used to be part of my email address, until I changed ISP's and couldn't get it with the new one, and was thus easy to remember as a logon.

My nick name is "MikeR" because my name is Mike Reedich. Now, some of you may think that's not very original right?
Well consider this - my nick used to be "Mike R" befor I lost a little weight.

A friend's favorite movie is "Rainman". He is always quoting lines and calls me Rainman because my name is Raymond. What can I say?

Incidently, my handle is pretty straightforward, but I should mention at this point that it would certainly not be unique in my family. My father is also named Chris, as is my grandfather. Somehow, things have so far failed to get confusing.

Nebraska=NE; Bill=me, hence, nebill!
I thought about changing it to "Fujidude" but then along came the Paramount! Lets, see, "parafuji?" Or maybe "SRP" for my string of bikes? (Sagres, Roubiax, Paramount) Or "SaRaPara?"
Naw, just stick with nebill!!
