Yeah, it's a Dawes. I think it's attractive, the matching rear rack is pretty nice. It appears to have Normandy hubs, possibly a Suntour RD and the crank looks like... Sugino maybe? I'd guess it was nice and not insanely fancy for the time.
The PSA was entertaining enough. They are usually laughable for all the wrong reasons, but this one was ok.

I think it may be a Dawes Galaxy from the 1970s, the classic 10 speed "racer"era.
The guy is Derek Griffiths who was a childrens presenter/actor in the late 60s-70s right through.
Most famously on Play School where he presented with a bunch of stuffed toys and dolls.
Saw him on TV the other week. The afro has now gone, but I can't remember whether the moustache was there or not.
