Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? niterider lumina 650....best light out there.
nice beam, good coverage.....beware of a light with "more lumens"....the beams on those cheap knockoffs usually suck!

They're both 3 LED lights. Pick whichever one you like better.

I bought a CREE and it screams cheap. I now have a Cygolite Metro 300. USB rechargeable, multiple settings, bright enough to illuminate the road. $60

I'm not going to take on and off all that crap for the occasional night ride. Also, 1200 lumens is overkill IMO. My cat eye light with 150 lumens is good enough, but since it's not rechargeable, I plan on changing it soon.

If you don't need to light up the road, get whichever one is cheaper.

Just to clarify, CREE is the company that makes the actual LED, regardless of which cheap or not-cheap bike light (or other) enclosure it's in.

Ok, but it still looks like a lot of stuff to carry around in your bag compared to a smaller light like a knot blinder which gives enough light for most riding.

fwiw, I like my previous-generation Lezyne minidrive (now called the macrodrive, in terms of the size of the light casing itself, though the macro drive has 2x the lumens of my minidrive... the new minidrive has a different mount and is smaller). great mount, off and into my pocket in 1 second, and can pan the light back and forth (say the person you're riding with on a dark road has a useless-for-illumination blinkie light... just pan the beam between the two of you with your thumb without letting go of the bars). USB charging, decent battery life.

I use one of these 1000 lumen flashlights with rechargeable battery. 5 hours of light on high, 20 on low. It was only $23 plus $3 at Lowes for hardware to attach it to my bars. I'm not a huge fan of riding at night anymore though and we have a lot of dark streets so I like high lumen outputs so I can see better.

If it's just to be seen, these cheap things put out a lot of bright flashing light, brighter than any other small flasher I've seen. Be warned I don't think their rear lights are necessarily red https://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-RED-Bike-...item5d3f89d392
