You're killing me! If I had to ride this route to work I'd never get there. I'd keep riding.

You lead a really rough life, Vic, making that crappy commute with the terrible scenery and views must wear on you, badly. You have my deepest sympathy........

Keep up the great pics, they make bad days seem better.

One of the bridges over the St. John's River leading into St. Augustine. This isn't in my area but most of the bridges that are and go over shipping channels are as steep or steeper in order to allow the freighters and cruise ships out of the bay and into the gulf.

Old Saw Mill still in use

Today was a great day for riding here in central NJ. Overcast, but temps in the low to mid 60s all day. Found this old bridge (1897, refurbished in 2005) over the Lockatong Creek northeast of Stockton, NJ. The building is Strimple's Mill and the sign says Custom Sawing. It used to be a water powered saw, but electricity is used now. The saw was running as I rode by on Strimples Mill Road.

Two way traffic on that "skinny" bike lane? That's a pretty steep downhill for oncoming cyclists.

Best part is that even though the road is open to two-way vehicular traffic, you can ride the whole ridge and only come across two, maybe three cars/motorcycles the whole way. The road doesn't go from point A to point B. It goes from nowhere to nowhere.

He was just crossing a MUP when I saw him. He was well up a sub division wall by the time I got my phone out. Just part of living in the desert.

Canadian rockies in the distance, somewhere between Bragg creek and Elbow falls methinks.
I didn't have the presence of mind to collect GPS info.

My wife and I are riding on the FKOHT (Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail)… no not the whole 106 miles. But, the parts we have been doing have been enjoyable and informative. Yesterday we rode through Marathon Key to Pigeon Key over what is known as the Old 7 Mile Bridge. We did the tour of Pigeon Key which was very interesting. Check out https://www.pigeonkey.net. Here is a nice shot heading to the key on the bridge early in the morning. The Atlantic is on the left and the gulf on the right. You can see the new 7 mile bridge on the left and Pigeon Key in the distance.

On today's ride, I visited Washington's Rock, about a mile south of Lambertville, NJ. Legend has it that George Washington stood on this rock to see what the British Troops were doing along the Delaware River. (Also Cornwallis used it to check on the rebels, but he lost so the rock isn't named after him). The panorama distorts the river which is pretty straight in this section. Directly across is Pennsylvania and old factories that have been turned into condos. There's a wing dam across the river. The river is about as low as I've ever seen it. Sometimes when the river is high, the wing dam is completely covered. About a mile up river, on the far side, is New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Just before I got home there was a spectacular sunset. Here it is behind the Kerr's farm, about a mile northeast of Pennington, NJ. I wasn't the only one taking a photo. People were pulling their cars off the road and getting out to take photos!
