2.3 miles long, that would be awesome to ride through. My 2 tunnels on the local trail are only half a mile long each. The 2nd tunnel is curved though, so it's pitch black when you get into the middle. The first tunnel has a curve right at the entrance so on the way back, you can't see anything ahead until you're nearly at the end.
A tunnel that long would be a blast to go through. Is it dark or lighted?

^ So envious of your commute, love the smell of the ocean - but I wouldn't trade my ride through the orchards for it.

I managed to get out for a 12 mile ride today - the first ride in several months! Work, building work on the house and a holiday away in Switzerland have meant that my bike has spent too long in the shed. The weather has been excellent over the last month or so but I had no time to ride!
Today I left the building work to itself and took off for a short spin in the sunshine. It was nice to be back on two wheels and my two weeks at altitude in Wengen helped my fitness. Another ride will be arranged soon.

So far, my favorite photo, which I turned into a wallpaper, is one I shot on the MCT-Goshen Trail during the fall. There aren't any cyclists though.
For all my good, bad, and ugly pics from my expanding range of MUP adventures, stored on my skydrive.
My goal for July, is to ride from my house, to the Confluence trail, and ride down it to the old Chain of Rocks Bridge, then cross that bridge when I come to it, and ride down the Riverfront Trail till I reach the Archgrounds of St. Louis. That should be a 25 mile trip one way, and I'm debating whether to come back by bike, or hop on Metrolink, cross the river, and take Madison County Transit to the Wood River station or the Wood River Wal-mart parking-lot.

Thanks! I've been slacking off this year, so much has passed me by. All my newer pics are on Flickr now, since the larger free space lets me store pics in their original (LARGE) size.

Finally admitted I'm too old for a true tri-bike, the geometry is just not comfortable, so converted it to a little higher stem, bar end shifters on new drop bars and brakes. More comfortable and fast!!

Taken by a friend last weekend on our 110 degree heatfest. This is Grimes Canyon Road. It's a hoot of a descent. As is apparent from the photo, the heat was getting to me.

That's an autographed picture of Jim Lonborg from the year he won the Cy Young. Nifty piece of memorabilia.

lol.
Last night's sunset didn't suck. There were high clouds blocking the sun until it dipped below the horizon. Since it was getting dark, I stopped to flip on my rear blinker and headlight. Looking up, the Sun had lit those same clouds up as if they were on fire. A lot of the color had faded by the time I reached the pier, but it was still amazing. What a show.
Yea, I'm privileged. At least I recognize and appreciate it. lol

Nothing like some of the brilliant shots above, but I kinda liked the way this came out from an iPhone 5s. It has an oil-canvas feel to it. I didn't do anything to get the effect, just point and click as always...and no Photoshop...lol
