How often do us old guys actually win?
I did have to brag on this one a little. I did a 50 mile gravel race near jefferson City, Mo and actually won the race. Doesn't happen very often so I figured I would share. There were 51 riders doing this race and length.
The race was called the red dog 100 and I did the shorter race of 50 miles.

Nice podium, puts you head and shoulders above the competition.
But watch that 1st step down, it's a doozy.
edit: i used to live just up the road from you, tad north of Eureka. Great biking roads west of St Louser.

Was Flora the one who gave him the dress and petticoats for his disguise?
FWIW, I'm of fairly heavy Scots descent, and even I consider "the old pretender" to be an embarrassment.

ASAIK it was Flora who dressed Charlie in women clothing. Not only was he an embarrassment but he wasn't so bonnie either. I think he fell out the ugly tree and hit every brach on the way down when he was born

Silver Comet Trail, Rockmart Georgia to the Alabama State Line.
Cold sunrise at Coots Lake trailhead.
Ranch west of Rockmart, GA
The trail passes through Cedartown, Ga. I went exploring a little and found this cool art deco theater. Not much else in Cedartown.
Not much in the rest of western Georgia, either. Lots of this....
Standing in Georgia looking west. The other side of the arch is Alabama. This is where the Silver Comet Trail becomes the Chief Ladiga Trail.

Something a little different from me this morning. This scan is of a painting a friend painted around 15 years ago after a visit to St Andrews.

Seeing off a friend before he moves abroad. We did a group ride of four friends on a beautiful autumn day with colourful leaves in the mountains west of Tokyo.
This is my Elephant NFE. The mismatched tyres are because I switched the front back from tubeless to tubes; the rear is still tubeless with a different tyre, I will soon switch that back too.

I liked the old vs. new pics from last year, thought I would drop one in for a laugh. My young self is still in there and it comes out to play quite often. My wife tells me it should stay inside.
Oh, and in case anyone is curious about the Stingray, it was a Stingray Junior, but I had installed a Huffy BMX kit with a BMX Bar, Pads, and a number plate. I quickly broke the bar as it was super cheap, and I also added a single seat off of a Schwinn Collegiate I found in a dumpster. It was a good old bike, and got me lots of mileage and fun as you can see.
Old pic from 1976ish.

New Pic from 2016ish with my daughter at the INDY N.I.T.E. ride.
