Will this reduce the number of motorists?
It's been discussed about the effect that requiring bicycle riders to wear a helmet has had on the number of people cycling. Will this have a similar effect on automobilists?

It'd look better if the wearer also had a dorky hi-viz jacket.

As a Paramedic and also an ER worker, I think helmets should be required in the bathroom for anyone over 65 and/or on Coumadin.

I hope you realize that we health care workers get a skewed view of aging. For example, most of the seniors I meet are patients on the Geri-psych Unit. But that doesn't mean that everybody over 65 is demented or insane. Most seniors are healthy and active, especially if they're into bike riding or other forms of daily exercise.

I hope you realize that we health care workers get a skewed view of aging. For example, most of the seniors I meet are patients on the Geri-psych Unit. But that doesn't mean that everybody over 65 is demented or insane. Most seniors are healthy and active, especially if they're into bike riding or other forms of daily exercise.
Though seriously, wtf is it about Coumadin that compels people to climb tall ladders?

LOL, there's NO WAY, you'd EVER get cagers to wear a helmet like that, they'd scream bloody murder ASAP!! I just don't get the, "If I have to wear a helmet I won't ride a bicycle" thing?? My helmet doesn't bother me in the least, infact I LIKE the mtb style visor, (to me a road rider needs the visor, a mtb rider really doesn't BUT racers don't wear visors so it's a pofa to use them one the road, DUMB, jmho). Heck I even have on of my headlights strapped on to my helmet and it still doesn't bother me at all. I think if your using the "helmet" as an excuse not to ride, you just DO NOT want to ride!

The visors work well for bikes with an upright riding position such as mountain bikes, many hybrids and many city bikes. On a bike with road bike handlebars, the riding position is such that a visor obscures or limits vision. My primary bike has road bike bars. I have tried riding with a helmet which had a visor. I quickly removed the visor so I could see more. When I was on a mountain bike, this was not an issue.

I used to get grief from people who saw me wearing my motorcycle helmet while parking my car in the garage after riding my motorcycle. I can imagine what people would say about wearing a helmet while driving a car on the street. Car Talk had a segment on that, and they made fun of it too.

Heavy, not well-vented, limited hearing, and the visibility, while not great, isn't as awful as you'd think (the eyeport is on the large side for wearing glasses) -- but at least it's sturdy enough to survive a few hits to the A-pillar. Add a HANS device and your'e set.
