Replacing a Bike
So my Mom started cycling a couple summers ago and has been really enjoying it! She pulls out the bike in May and rides till October or so. We do a couple charity rides together in the fall. Nothing too serious but I would definitely like her to continue!
She acquired my Specialized Ruby however about a month ago it was stolen off the back of her car. We have been looking for a replacement but so far no luck! We do not have the budget to replace the Ruby, we've been looking used and our bike shop is on the look out for us for anyone upgrading.
I'm actually considering buying a low end bike from an online store. Any recommendations If I go this route? I know the assembly might be questionable, brakes will need replaced, wheels might need to be trued. Could it be considered for these purposes?
Maybe a GT or low end Fuji?
She is not looking at high mileage. She actually notices no difference when riding a Dolce or Ruby even though one is carbon and one is aluminum. She rode a Vita and liked the flat bar option! That bike was a little heavier tho and I think if she would have rode it a few more miles she would have noticed the weight. Bottom line is she is not picky!
I would like her to get some ride time in before summer is over! Not sure how long to hold out looking for the perfect bike with the right price!
Any tips/ suggestions??
