I rode past Harsen's Island once. I asked someone what's on the island. It sounded like just a neighborhood surrounded by water. Going there again would be a long trip by any means, but lately I have been more interested in islands. The only one I rode on is Belle Isle, which has a bridge.

Around airports ... through airports ... 4 airports in total. We walked about 4 km at LAX, plus a bit in Sydney, Auckland, and Vancouver.

And then today, after we awoke from jet lag recovery, a walk to the nearby shopping establishments and back ... about 3.2 km.

Rode to downtown LR and back to participate in the Little Rock Startup weekend.

My normal 20 mile loop after the sun came up. It was cold and windy and I had to wear a jacket. Then after dinner my wife and I went for typical 30 minute walk around the neighborhood.

Downloaded and installed after I got back from my walk home today. I've logged nearly a mile on it already- ~1/3 mile of that is outside the house Did make a point to go for a short, brief run to see if it truly could tell the difference but it just said I walked it- I guess my jog is a brisk walk (but with more impact on the joints).

My Galaxy SII started to crash after I installed Moves, so I've removed it.

Yeah, the latest reviews has a bunch of Samsung users having problems with it.

I hadn't realized that it needs to 'call home' or have access to the network to function properly full time. I was at the Chiropractor's today and looked at the display on my tablet and the step count hadn't budged since leaving the house- and I had walked 3.48 miles between the time my wife dropped me off at QT and that office (according to RunKeeper). Once I got home, the step counter went from 89 to over 12,000+.*

Amazing how much more one tends to notice when they aren't encapsulated in a cocoon of glass, metal, fabric, and plastic. I saw some houses today that from the outside interested me greatly. One was a two story that had a wrap around porch that was covered on two sides and then a smaller deck in the rear that wasn't- shame that the wrap around porches have fallen out of favor...

*That count also includes another 3.55 miles logged by RunKeeper on the way home from the office.

Today didn't go as I'd planned last night. I had envisioned getting an early start and going for a walk across town and up the big hill and possibly making a loop around the town center on the way back before my wife woke up (her alarm goes off at 1100). Instead, I stayed up too late and compounded that by catching up on my social media and emails after I woke up...

I did manage to do my usual QT->Home route with a slight detour to the Ace Hardware (drain cleaner/acid for the tub). Endomondo states that was 2.23 miles in 41:52 at 3.3 avg mph with 400 kcal burned.

Two nights ago ... a short walk from the hotel to a restaurant.

Last night ... a longer walk on the hunt for a different restaurant.

Plus, of course, 14.5 km on our new Bike Fridays from the shop up the beautiful cycleway in Eugene and back to the shop.

Walk report time. Not that I haven't been walking- just haven't really felt like "sharing" or maybe just too lazy to pound the keyboard . Route was the usual QT->Home and used endomondo.

2.07 miles in 34:51 at 3.6 avg mph w/392 kcal burned. That is the best time I've had in quite a while

Walk report time. Though I started out at the QT, I didn't start recording until the Sapulpa Tag Agency. Route is Tag Agency->Carletti DDS->Home.
2.87 miles in 51:33 at 3.3 mph w/513 kcal burned per endomondo. For the record, I've finally decided that I will just use endomondo exclusively from now on.

Just got back from *gasp* riding my bike . Only rode around the 'hood for about 30 minutes- but that was enough to remind me my saddle is a ass hatchet. I don't think my son is gonna be challenging his old man to another race anytime soon*. My son doesn't like to draft me when I've got my NR Cherrybomb blinking, either.

*This race occurred on a dead end street with good sight lines, so there was minimal risk.
My son informed me that the fender was "bouncing around and hitting the wheel" and since this is a problem that I've been attempting to deal with off and on over the years and since the bike is no longer a commuter, I am seriously thinking about just removing them. I haven't made up my mind on whether to keep the rack on or not, though.

Rode to George's last night on my 1984 Dahon folder... need to rethink this. It was under 2 miles one way, uphill going, downhill coming back. Dahon doesn't like hills, up or down.

Got back on the plan of colouring in the map between my house and office by riding every street during my commutes. It's 90% done but the last bits are all scattered and blocked by ravines and bottlenecks and LRT tracks, or accessed from one-way streets going the wrong way, etc. so it is tedious.

Walk report, QT->Kum & Go->Home.
5.10 miles in 1:28:37 at 3.5 mph w/940 kcal burned.
Detailed directions FWIW. Taft & Mission, W on Taft, N on Main/SH 97, Kum & Go on N 9th/SH 97 (Main turns into N 9th St after if reaches the top of the hill), then S on SH 97 to where it ends at Teel Rd. I live in the Lazy H addition (follow Main south of Teel) and that is as close as I care to divulge my actual address
Close call #??: headed S on Main, had the light at McKinley, was in the crosswalk and this minivan that was headed W on McKinley wanting to make a left onto S Main approached the intersection on red and didn't stop until their front bumper was in the traffic lane of N-bound traffic on Main. I had to pull up short and dodge around them ><

Data recorded using endomondo (I've decided to use it exclusively) the town you'll need to plug into your favorite online mapping provider is "Sapulpa, OK"- if you're curious, that is .

There have been several short walks between hotel and eating establishments ...

And then yesterday we did a ride from where we are staying in Canada ...

A 28.3 km ride with my father! Beautiful day, lovely ride, and the Bike Fridays performed very well.

Posted a little while ago on my wall.

I tweaked my knee again (possibly hyperextended it), but I didn't let that stop me from a walk. Of course, I had an appointment for the Chiropractor for today that I made yesterday...
2.48 miles in 47:33 at 3.1 mph w/418 kcals burned. I did wear my knee brace as a precaution.
What I failed to mention in that post is that I got flagged down by some guy driving a pick-up when he was stopped at a light. Basically, he wanted to let me know that he's been seeing me walking around a lot and that I should "keep up the good work!"

So close - whittled the the map down to 10 short blocks still to be ridden out of well over a 1000 - maybe closer to 2000 - that I started with. Yellow is streets I have ridden, blue is me crossing off whole segments as they are completed, small red outlined area is where the last few bits still to do are shown as black blobs. Since it includes one-way sections, is crossed by a street blocked off in places by a major tunneling project along it, and is only accessed from the south by a footbridge, it will still take 2 or 3 commutes the finish off.

Today I went to Menards and picked up 45 pounds of dirt, a large bag of mulch, some garden tools, and a large plastic tote. I have a large rosemary bush that will need to come inside for the winter, and wanted to get it set in a container before the frost comes.

Other rides this week: work and back a lot, Night Groceries, doctor appointment, pharmacy, and a fun ride up the bluff in Minnesota to see the colors starting to change.

Saturday -- Rowan and I got out for a 41.15 km ride in lower mainland BC on our new Bike Fridays! It is a beautiful day out there ... sunshine and warmth. And we really enjoyed riding the Bike Fridays. I know I'm finding mine a very easy and comfortable bicycle to ride.

Photos from our ride ... click photos for more ...

Four more short blocks to go. One reason it is taking so long is that I wanted to incorporate all the coverage as much as possible into reasonably normal commuting, so I'll do some side to side zigzagging to get to the more inconvenient sections, but no circling and backtracking
