Was there someone here making tubular bags?

I tried searching and couldn't find anything, maybe I'm crazy. But I thought I remember seeing here someone was making under the saddle soft bags for spare tubulars. Thanks.

Are those copyright infringements, or NOS? I don't think the fine print at the bottom allows you to use a Cinelli logo, unless I'm mistaken, which I'm often am.

I was arguing with myself about this, I knew I wasn't crazy. Do you have anymore that's for sale?

Total copyright infringement. No different than reproduction hoods except the bag clearly represents itself as a fake.

I don't recall if I have any left. I'll check tomorrow and send a PM.

Well , I hope you don't mind if anyone takes your intellectual property for their personal use. I do have a problem with stealing a copyrighted logo.

Coming from a Cinelli lover.

Saying that the other guy does it does not justify it.

Really?

This is the thread where you "stand your ground"?

Where's your bellyache with the countless people selling repro Campy hoods?

Where's your bellyache with the countless Reynolds 531 or any other repro t-shirt?

Where's your bellyache with the countless Schwinn or any other marquee's catalogs posted on the interwebz?

Where's your bellyache with the countless repro decals?

I will also guarantee that Cinelli does not give 2 rat's craps with their logo on a dozen obsolete bags. Please. Contact them. Let them know of my evil doing. Let us know how that works out for you.

Cinelli will just ask for the pattern and release them as a retro product at Brooks prices.

Odd. I've ridden with him a few times and seem to like him just fine, good guy to ride with (if I could only keep up).

Winter must have come early Everyone seems testy lately.

+1, and I'd like another.
I actually had it on my Wraith, and one of the United Health Care wrenches wanted to buy it at the criterium Nationals.

While our friend jiangshi makes a good technical point, one which iab has espoused here, one must look at the context.

I use the tube sock on my well-used Cinelli bike, with (overpriced) Cinelli cages, (probably fake) Cinelli FD clamp, (probably fake) Cinelli seat post clamp.

I also have (probably fake) Cinelli bottles, which I'm sure are not licensed, and a Cinelli t-shirt, ditto. The tubular sock fits in just fine.
It clearly says reproduction, and few people I know would object, especially Cinelli.

As far as respect for Cinelli, I think iab has proven at numerous bike shows around the country that he holds Cinelli in high regard.
If just for his work on on getting subtitles for vintage Italian cycling documentaries, I think Columbus/Cinelli would grant him a license.

It would not surprise me at all if Cinelli knew of the tubular socks and chuckled over them. It's more of a flattery thing, done well.
There appears to be no pushback at all on numerous Cinelli soft goods being sold all over creation.

If you've ever met Cinelli reps, you'll find out that many of them peruse BF C&V on a regular basis, as well as VeloSpace and probably Pedal Room.
They are extremely secure in their products' ability to withstand infringement, but if you decided to copy their bars, stems, or frames, I think you'd have a problem. Ditto their RAM products, which are being copied in China and slowly knocked to the curb almost as fast as they appear.

Another example: there are two Columbus-tubed carbon frames on eBay, both obviously the same design as Cinelli's XLR8R-2 carbon frame, but in high gloss instead of the soft-touch matte. Both made in Italy, and quite intentionally left logo-less. I would imagine a Cinelli logo getting anywhere near those would result in legal action, or some guy named Vito visiting in the wee hours, to intimately acquaint one with an old Silca frame pump.

I'd ride with either one of these two fellows, and they'd probably get along just fine, as I'd describe iab as "intelligent, and affable, yet humorous."
I've had plenty of correspondence with jiangshi, and predict he's somewhat the same.

Perhaps it is the words that knock heads, at times, with both being very direct in their writing style.

.....and no, Shawn, I can't sell you my "Cinelli" tube sock, but I'll send you my Specialized one for free. They sue everybody.

Sloar, I have made a few leather bags for tubular tires. Below is a pic from one of my experiments. I use scrap leather from Tandy's. My wife gets angry when I use her sewing machine, but it is easy to make a simple bag like this one. I also can fit a C02 inflator inside the bag.

I like the look of the bagless mount, but I want to throw in a co2 pump and extra cartridge.
