Anyone run a dropper post on their gravel bikes?
Not that I really need another thing to add to my bike, but it sounds like a pretty good idea.
I was out on a rail trail the other day and ran into a section where the tunnel passing under a crossing road was overgrown/impassable. They ran the trail up/down embankments on either side of the road that felt like 45 degrees of slippy dirt. I had a heck of a time getting back far enough on the "descent" with my saddle in its road-fit position.

Non omnino gravis
If a good one wasn't $400+, I'd have one on the bike right now, if just for descending and easier mounting/dismounting.

i just replaced the heavy OE one on my stuntman with a light CF standard post. I never used the dropper except to see how it worked.

I'd imagine if you rode a lot of long twisty gravel descents it could come in handy...getting lower for cornering and aero effects. The trade off of course being that you have to lug it to the top of the hill first. As a single speed rider I would be willing to trade the drivetrain weight for dropper post weight so that I could descend faster when I run out of gear, but I no longer live somewhere with long descents so a dropper is well down the list of prospective purchases.

Particularly on gravel I'd rather have a seat post like CG-R or CF3/VCLS.
Specialized had one on the top level Diverge for the first year before dropping it.

I mean, except that a dropper has no suspension action, sure.
But hey, my frame and fork are steel. The whole bike is springy.

Devinci marketing makes a big deal that the Hatchet it is "dropper ready."

A guy had brought his CX bike into the LBS recently-- he had converted the bike to 1X, then put in a dropper and used the left STi to activate it. As a fellow 1X guy, I was like... I do not need that, but I want that very much.
