Just got my new 50mm carbon wheel set in today
Mounted up the new Continental Ultra Sport II 700x25c
Waiting on some carbon flat top bars as well then will get that installed
If I keep this bike for awhile
Might go on the search for a 6700 Ultegra groupset deal to swap out the SRAM Apex
2012 Specialized Roubaix Apex Compact

Sweet looking Roubaix!

Hi all.
First time rider, so be gentle. I grew up on BMX, beach cruisers, and mountain bikes, but now approaching middle age and recovering from kidney transplant, I wanted to give it a try. I stumbled onto the Diamondback website one day and came up on a year end clearance of the Century 700x28 entry level roadie. I had tried the Century 1 at REI the day before just to see what it would feel like on a road bike but I could never afford anything over 800.
At the time I went on DB, they had the Century for $569.99, no tax, free ship, free assembly by Beeline Bikes, and free home delivery by appointment, and best part for my situation, 6 months interest free via Paypal. Got the bike on 1/4 and took it out for 3 rides so far at 33+ miles and so far so good, minus the sore butt. I was told by friends to give it a week to get used to it, but with all my medical issues, I may get a softer saddle to ease the comfort of my rides.
I have to admit, it's a lot smoother to ride on streets than my mountain bike, but even after 3 days of riding, I still kind of freak out a little when i look down at the wheel and think how tiny they look compared to my other bike. Anywho, a pic of it. My seat looks way low to me, but short Asian legs syndrome on a 52cm frame I guess.

Welcome! Nice Ride (I love the new DB bikes). I always try to talk people out of 'softer' saddles because contrary to what logic might tell you, even with medical issues (I have a ton myself), a well-designed saddle (and a proper bike fitting) will cure all of your problems. You can guarantee at the price point for that Century that the stock seat they put on there is garbage. With a good saddle, your sore ass problem will disappear. Just let your body get used to it. It may get worse before it gets better, but it will. If you need saddle suggestions, these forums are a great place to get that. The Fabric saddles are great and budget friendly, so you may want to look into those.

Just got one nice CrMo frame 1985 Nishiki Tri-A.
Originally was thinking on rebuilding with modern comps keeping only the frame but now I am evaluating if I want to go the route.
The Trek hybrid I have probably will put on market this spring.

2001 GT ZR 4.0
I always dug the triple triangle frames. I picked this up super cheap off Craigslist as a trainer/back up bike. It had a broken shifter that replaced with new Sora. Gave it new cables, brake pads and a clean and tune. Recently I bought a adapter so I could put on a modern bar and stem I had sitting around along with a seat post. I found a set Mavic elite wheels and tires for $100 along with a new saddle, bar tape and such I'd say I'm all in for less than $300.

^^^ Nice bike kizale! I too am a sucker for the traditional geometry with horizontal top tube. I can't part with my 2003 Trek which has similar geometry and frame thickness. I like the upgrades. Looks like you have a good sized stable! Kudos for the bike calendar :-)

My Roubaix
Need opinions
Flat top carbon bars will be in pretty soon
What bar wrap color would you go with?
I am thinking simple and keep it black still or go black and red camo or white red camo
Leaning towards white red from Profile or Cinelli
I dont think I can find a matching all red or if even red would look

^^^ Black tape doesn't look too bad, but white, to match the white on the seat might look better. I think read tape would be too much red. You might try photo editor and coloring the bars white and see what you think.
I replaced white https://photos.app.goo.gl/rwyqvKaqiwvmJWga2 with green https://photos.app.goo.gl/nLnNIA5ZcEm56Upq2 but I think I like the white better.

Solid white isnt bad but cant do it as I think its way to easy to get it dirty and then it really stands out

I love the bike but have not had a chance to ride it as much as I would like to have because of the weather for one and the recall on the carbon fork for two. As for the wheels, I have not had a chance to ride it enough to make a fair assessment yet. But lighter is always better.

Lynskey 260 Disc. Cheaped out with mechanical and 105 to keep the project on budget but so far no complaints whatsoever. Delivered the beginning of November. Looking forward to Spring.

Freddie Grubb Meteor (Frame 1954)
This is my Freddie Grubb Meteor (Massed Start Frame) the restoration of which I have posted elsewhere and is now my main UK Road Bike. The frame is 1954, Reynolds 531 tubing with forged dropouts. New Brooks B17 Saddle with matching leather Bar Tape. The components are mostly 1960's Campagnolo Record and Gran Sport. All parts are either NOS or As Good As New. it has a GB Biba Stem and new Cinelli Bars. Wheels were built by 'Strada Wheels' of Worthing UK, NOS Weinman LP18 27' x 1" Rims on Vintage Campag Record 36hole High Flange Hubs (overhauled with new Bearings, Cups & Cones), using Sapim Double Butted St. Stl. Spokes. Bike rides really well and is very light and could be described as 'frisky' due to its 72deg x 72deg geometry. It now has Campagnolo NOS Toe Clips and Straps (not shown).
