Looking at a C&V for Neighbor
Hey Gang,
My neighbor stopped by this morning and said he was looking for a new road bike. I said he should think about a C&V.
So I have been looking for one to show him. I ran across this one. Your thoughts.

I also put a post on the ISO thread.
He's in his early 50's, 5"7" with a medium build and recently retired from the military.
Thanks for your help.
T.

In my area - and I live in the land of Trek - this 660 is going for about double what it would fetch here.
I've sold similar examples in the $275-325 range.
I understand MPLS is a hot market. But not double hot.

I agree, that is on the high end of the market. Of course, hopefully it would be fully tuned and ready to ride.
Perhaps consider some of these (not a very exhaustive search).

Looks like it might be a bit large in any case. Guessing that's a 56 and I think 54 would be a better fit. (Of course, I could be wrong. I'm not that good at eyeballing size.)

Still learning
I can't tell whether it is an 84 or 85, but on the subject bike, neither the drivetrain nor the rims appear to be OEM for either year. I'm guessing a 1984 frame, stripped of its Campagnolo parts. Low mileage and very good condition, but given the evidence, worth about 1/2 asking price. I am not a big fan of the early Shimano 600 derailleurs. Also, it looks like a 56cm, too tall for most 5'7" riders.

Agree with the others that the bike is overpriced.
The bianchi premio that Clifford linked to isn't bad at $300.

This one stands out to me...
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/r...575260331.html Miyata 310 $225
Or possibly a Bianchi for $300

Yeah, but I was wrong! LOL... I hadn't looked at this bike for years, and it's filthy dirty from being stored in the garage. I bought it to take a bike maintenance class with, and I couldn't get the tires off! My bike shop instructor said it was the worst tire/rim match he had ever seen. So I must have tried another rim, or something. I honestly don't remember what happened. I only remembered the guy I bought it from said it was all original. I'll go down and look at it again tomorrow.
But hey yeah, I'll give it to him for $200. He'll have to get it cleaned and looked at by a LBS, I'm realizing now, so that will cost him a bit. I'm in the process of moving, so selling my bikes was a painful last minute decision. Sorry for any confusion. I just kind of pulled it out, took a photo, and posted it, using some old photos of the components.
